Muslim Khan admits to the flogging, wanted the girl dead.
After the man who performed the flogging was arrested, it seemed that they (including Muslim Khan) tried to get the man off the hook by suggesting a peace deal was in force. No argument of the video being ‘fake’:

I understand where you're coming from. and that was my stance as well.
but it is an important question to ask why the issue of the video being real or fake was brought up at all... because there are people who are discredit the fight against the Taliban. this shows what an uphill battle we're fighting. we're not only fighting these barbarians but also the propaganda of the supporters of these barbarians who live amongst us - who use the Pakistan passport, who avail the facilities the state of Pakistan provides... yet also support the enemies of Pakistan.
and I sure hope all the morons who couldn't stop creaming themselves over the video being fake are reading the article that was posted. lakh la'anat aye..

^ the interesting 'piece' offers nothing new except namecalling and selectively linking back to old articles from the time of the video's first release. clearly whoever has that tinpot blog has been banging that drum in his little corner a while.
the question at the moment is why the news does not clarify on doubts on its journalistic integrity. just stick up for the story it printed, and provide names.

Rehman declares Swat flogging video real Updated at: 2300 PST, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said Wednesday that a video shown on media about the public flogging of a woman by masked Taliban was real.
A local news agency had claimed in its report that the video was fake. The report said the law enforcement agencies had also arrested some people from Swat and Kohat in this regard.
The arrested men alleged that an Islamabad-based non NGO, which was not part of the local or state or federal government organization, had financed preparation of fake video and paid 0.5 million rupees for doing so.
When contacted by Geo News, Kohat DIG said that no arrest was made in connection with the flogging video.
IG Kohat Abdullah Khan was contacted and asked whether any arrests were made from Kohat where police had registered a case in this regard, replied that arrests are made every day in Kohat as part of the ongoing operation against miscreants. But, he added, that so far as arrests in connection with Swat case are concerned, no one has been held by police or security agencies. However, he said, DPO Swat or DIG Malakand would be in a better position to say something.
In this connection, DIG Malakand Qazi Jameel said investigations into the incident of public flogging of a girl was still underway.
He said Kabal police station had lodged an FIR after the release of the video. The case was registered under sections 120, 337, 345, 365, 364 of the Anti Terrorism Act and that investigation into the incident is still in progress. We have set up an investigation team in this regard, he added.
“So, the investigation is still on as to whether this incident did actually take place or not. SP Investigation Swat is leading the above team and the investigation is still underway,” DIG Malakand said.
Interior Minister Rehman Malik said so far no such person has come forward claiming that the video of public flogging of a girl was fake.
When asked about the originality of the video, Rehman Malik said the media had first shown the video which people watched and believed everything that was being shown in the video. But then the media came up with another report saying the video ‘was fake and made on payment’, he added.
The Interior Minister said he had talked to IG and that the investigation conducted so far reveals that the video was real. “No one has, as yet, come forward with a claim that he had taken money for making that video,” he added.
When contacted, Interior Ministry and ISPR denied arresting any such person.
**Muslim Khan, then Tehrik-e-Taliban spokesman, had confirmed the incident but criticized doing it publicly.
While talking to media, Khan condemned Muslims for creating such hype like Europeans wanted it to be. He was of the view that the girl deserved punishment either outside or inside but it was wartime and giving punishment inside was not possible and scholars were also not present. This video is nine months old and why not the video of men punished later was not shown, he asked.**

Hopefully all incidents of Talib barbarity and their crusade against Pak will be investigated. And every Talib still alive and deemed a crusader would be brought to khooni chowk and given chitrol first before getting hanged in the same chowk.

So, the journalists have finally tracked the woman and interviewed her. Do Taliban supporters still call the video a fake?
****SWAT: “I still wonder why they flogged me,” says Saira, the woman who was publicly flogged by the obscurantist Taliban in the Swat Valley of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa last year.
With tears rolling down her cheeks, Saira recalls the humiliation, the trauma she suffered when she was flogged by a self-styled Taliban vigilante squad amid jeers of a gun-toting crowd of militants. She was punished for “having an extramarital affair” with a man from her in-laws.
Saira, a resident of the Asharbanr area, in Charbagh tehsil, the erstwhile stronghold of the fugitive cleric Maulana Fazalullah, locally known as Mullah Radio, who had spearheaded a bloody campaign for the enforcement of his own hard-line version of Islamic laws in the valley.
Saira was married to Fazal Azim, a day labourer. And she was awarded 30 lashes by a self-styled Taliban shariah court for a crime she had never committed.
“Some relatives of my in-laws, who supported the Taliban, had blamed me to settle old scores with my spouse,” Saira told The Express Tribune with her little son in her lap.
“One day the son of Gul Nazar and Maulvi Abdur Rehman came to our house and accused me of having an illicit relation with a man in my in-laws,” she said. “I was dumbfounded. I couldn’t believe I’ll be charged with such a serious crime in a joint family,” she added.
Saira said that her husband was working as a day labourer in Hyderabad, Sindh, at that time. The Taliban sharia court “convicted” me without hearing me.
“An announcement was made from the loudspeakers of the village mosque about my ‘conviction’. And all villagers were invited to a local state-run school to watch the flogging,” Saira recalled the incident.
“It was unbelievable. I rushed to the punishment spot to convince them of my innocence. But they refused to hear me. They flogged me 15 times, right in front of a crowd of villagers,” she said, breaking down in tears.
As if it was not humiliation enough, the next day they took her to another place in the village and whipped her again.
“I wanted to drop dead. I wanted to end my life. Because I couldn’t face local villagers,” she said of the trauma she suffered after the incident.
But the reaction from the villagers, contrary to her fears, was sympathetic. “They condemned the Taliban for punishing me without hearing me out,” Saira said.
Ironically, after punishing Saira, the Taliban then asked her in-laws to call her spouse back from Hyderabad because they wanted to punish him too. “We were unable to understand why they wanted to punish my husband who was not even present in the village,” he added.
Saira said that she has left the matter to God. “We are poor and helpless people. We want to live peacefully. I wish for a divine chastisement for those who humiliated me,” she added.
Saira is not the lone woman who suffered at the hands of the loyalists of Maulana Fazlullah. Scores of other women were punished by the so-called sharia courts on the basis of hearsay during the ruthless and draconian rule of the Taliban.
Saira, who is expectant now, says she is waiting for help from human rights organisations to start her life afresh.

The fake video was made by american agent NGO. TTP is also working on american agenda. Goad is to divide and conquer, i.e., to create anarchy in Pakistan.

^^^ An article by a colleague and supporter of Commissioner Javed. The guy who was declared a Talib himself and was arrested for being responsible for murder of Pakistani commandos by the Taliban. No wonder he proclaimed the video as fake at the time based on the declaratioon by the Talib Javed. Even he is not claiming the video to be fake any more. You have one upped him in Taliban support.
