Buying a new Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport will set you back over $1.7 million. That’s a whole lot of scratch, so what do you get in return? Well, a 1000+ horsepower quad-turbo sixteen-cylinder engine, to start off with. And all the bragging rights that go along with it. You get the most prestigious badge in the business. And you get two roofs.
The Grand Sport, you see, is not your typical convertible. Rather than incorporating some sort of cloth, glass or metal roof that folds down behind the seats at the push of a button, it has a sort of targa-style solid panel that can be installed or removed depending on weather conditions. But if you’re out in the sun and the skies suddenly begin to darken, there’s a second roof that can be put in place in case of an emergency.
The trouble is, much as Richard Hammond of Top Gear discovered with the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster, the makeshift umbrella assembly isn’t quite so easy to install in a pinch. In fact - bearing in mind that the Veyron only has two seats - it took three guys in the video after the jump a few minutes to figure it out. Or then maybe they’re just not the brightest of fellas.
