**Red Bull underlined their impressive early-season pace when Mark Webber finished quickest in the final practice session at the Chinese Grand Prix.**The Australian topped the times in one minute 35:323 seconds, 0.241secs ahead of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton, the fastest driver on Friday.
Sebastian Vettel was 0.368secs off team-mate Webber in third place, with world champion Jenson Button in fourth.
Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso was fifth with team-mate Felipe Massa ninth.
Mercedes’s Nico Rosberg, who finished Friday’s second practice session behind Hamilton, clocked the sixth fastest time, 0.590 secs behind Webber, while team-mate and German compatriot Michael Schumacher was one place below in seventh.
Saturday’s session had to be stopped briefly in the final 15 minutes when Renault’s Vitaly Petrov lost control on the outside of Turn 16, the final corner, and crashed into a tyre wall.
Although there was no serious damage done to the front of his R30, Renault’s mechanics face a race against the clock to ensure the car is ready for qualifying, scheduled to start at 0700 BST.
Last year’s race winner Vettel suffered a minor problem with the left-front of his RB6 when a piece of debris was caught between the hub and wheel, scoring the rim slightly.
A gang of Red Bull staff surrounded the car from prying eyes as the mechanics went to work on resolving the issue.
Williams’s Rubens Barrichello also encountered problems during the hour-long session, this time with a new wing-stall device.
