Veterinarian/Animal Hospital in Pakistan

LOL!

I was just curious to know as we were discussing about dogs, cats etc at work. I want to know do we have veterinarian in pakistan as in USA there are many many hospitals for pets…as u know they more care abt animals than human. :hmmm:

Re: Veterinarian/Animal Hospital in Pakistan

Yes they do. The Government owned ones are free and for simple things like deworming, vaccinations, flea control they are quite good (doesnt cost you a thing though its recommended you buy the items, such as anti-rabies vaccine) yourself. For nueturing its more advisable to take them to a better vet and dish out some moolah.

My dog had a tumor at age 12, and the people at the Army Dog Center performed a surgery on him, though it wasnt very complicated. He had also broken his leg when he was a puppy but made an amazing recovery after a basic treament by one of the vets and was the fastest dog in the nieghbourhood for a long time to come.

In the twin cities theres quite alot of expensive vets too, because theres alot of diplomats living there. Dr. Rana in E-7 is one.

Re: Veterinarian/Animal Hospital in Pakistan

you mean danger doctor!

Wow, that's pretty amazing.

Just curious, when you go to these hospitals, what kind of people do you usually run into? I mean what tabkah? I doubt the average person with a cat even bothers with these things. When I was there plenty of neighbors had cats (or they were just wild cats they would feed), and I never heard the term going to the vet being thrown around.

Re: Veterinarian/Animal Hospital in Pakistan

In our village we had a vet and he was used to treat animals for free....with changing governments so often and then musharraf's raj now everything is in mess. The vet has disappeared, the building is empty and half destroyed.

^hahaahhahahah

Teen, most of the people at the govt places are farmers and ‘doodh wallaz’ bringin in their cattles, majjs (Buffalos) as their livelihood depends on them and they cant afford anything more exquisite. The system works, surprisingly, but bear in mind we are primarily descendents of an an agrarian society, dating back to the Indus Valley civilization. Most average cat owners in Pakistan have those resiliant part time stray cats that are pretty good and can live on their own outside if needed, so trips to the vets arent needed. The ones that own nicer pedigreed cats goto the expensive places where they charge like Rs. 1500 to shampoo the cat :hehe:
