35) This verse is known as ayatul karimah, the “glorious verse”.
This dua’a was recited by prophet Yunus when he found himself in the dark belly of a big fish, who swallowed him alive.
To seek fulfillment of any legitimate desire, or to disperse afflictions and calamities, offer a two rakat salat and at the end recite this dua’a 720 times

There is no god but You (O Lord). Glory be to You. Verily I was of the unjust.
(AMBIYAA: 87)
I'm not trying to be offensive, but please don't post baseless nonsense like this where you are asking someone to recite something 720 times, this is total and utter nonsense. The verse is legitimate but the surah is A*N*BIYAA (the plural of Nabi), and where do you get this 720 garbage?
Lusi, it's not just that i don't believe in it. It's that this person is hijacking MY religion and making rubbish up. You would be up in arms tomorrow if I came up and said that there was another nabi after Muhammed, some things are just obviously nonsense and don't deserve to be 'heard out'.
reading certain ayahs/duas in certain numbers is called wazeefa and they r allowed in islam. i don't know abt 720 but anyone reading ayat e kareema 1000 times in any difficult word is based on many stories from islam. i don't have any quotes handy but any one who wanna know can search himself. so yes u shouldn't call it garbage at least jut coz u don't believe it
Mabrook, show me a SINGLE source from the Quran that says that repeating any part of the Quran any number of times has any specific benefits. It's all innovation that our people are VERY good at making up.
its not in quran but we as muslim believe in hadees, sunnah and footsteps of buzurgan-e-islam (aulia, sofia etc) who again find their source from quran n hadees. its a big prob here in canada that we can't find islamic or spritual books easily to find sources(net doesn't help always either) but from my previous knowledge these things r not against islam. yes some stuff like dorood e gunj bakh, dua-e noor ( most things in punj soorah) etc r made up n i don't believe them. but u do believe that surah falaq n naas was recited 11 times each by Prophet SAW for opening of knots n thats the number we still believe. Same saying "Bismillah hil lazi la yadduru... "3 times evening n morning prevents from any harm is proved by hadees. Reading Tasbeeh-e Fatime( subhaan Allah 33 times, Alhumdullilah 33 times, Allah -o- akbar 34 times) is agian based on hadees n prophets advice to her daughter.

I don't want to change the main focus of this topic but....
I didnt mean to offend anyone. I was just trying to help out as she wanted ayat karima so i just copied and pasted it from a website. I also don't really know the amount of times it should be read. But I do know that you can read it in times of difficulty and I think you should read it as often as you'd like. I've heard of 720 (from the link I've posted) and I've heard of 1000. I've even heard of 100,000. In all honesty, its a special ayah from the Quran so I don't see why there should be a problem in reading it as many times as you want. You do get hasanat from every letter of the Quran you read. So why not avail this opportunity? Also the reason it says AMBIYA is because of tajweed rulings. I'm not sure how familiar you are but because anbiya has a noon sakina followed by a Ba we use the ruling of Iqlab which gives a meem sound. So Ambiya is simply for pronounication.
On another note, I felt that your method of trying to correct me was unislamic in its own way. To say that I'm hijacking YOUR religion is really rude! We should follow the Sunnah of the Prophet in correcting people. The Prophet SAW used lots of different methods to correct people depending on what their mistake was. The worse the mistake, the more harsh he was. I honestly don't think my mistake was that big that you had to deal with me so harshly. Also you are older than me and there's a way to deal with younger people (I'm only 17) who may not be knowledgeable as you. By acting the way you did you may make a person feel that they shouldn't involve themselves in Islamic discussions which will never make them learn. I don't know if I'm right or wrong but I now know I should recheck my sources.
We ask Allah SWT, may He be glorified and exalted, to guide us and protect us, to make us openers of good and closers of evil, and to guide others through us, for He is the All-Hearing, the Ever-Near, Who answers prayers. He is the Best of supporters and the Best of helpers, and He is the Guide to the Straight Path. May Allah SWT bless the Prophet SAW and all his family and companions. Praise be to Allah SWT, the Lord of the Worlds.
yes thanks for all the reply.... im happy by that you guys... i had said that i done thatt level 2 US past friday. they had found two soft markers on my babys heart and bowel area. it could be nuthing because the doctor had said that sometimes we find a whhite marker like this on unborn in a US and later disappear because his heart seem nice. or it could be a sign of DS and the other mark was his bowel area. she wasnt sure if it was marking from a cold virus and he had some blood in his bowek area or a white marker because they seem similiar in the US the doctor said. well i did get a cold like two weeks earlier and i told her that and she say it could be from a cold virus. she told me to test and see if i had this type of cold virus. to rule out this white marker on the bowell area. im waiting to take the blood work done for this virus thing to ruke out that white marker on his bowels area. but they called again today saying they wanted me to do a follow up for a another US in two week and said i have a appointment. i dont get it because the doc alrealy gave me these answers . i think maybe because shes not sure of these white markers that she want to check again in two weeks to see if its still there... anyone?
