^ Aaaw BH, you'll get better with practice, trust me. My mom and dad are both fabulous cooks. However my dad is the biryani expert. He's always made the biryani on weekends or for parties. So, my mom, although she's an equally good cook, never bothered to learn how to cook biryani cuz my dad took care of it. And the first few times my mom made biryani, it was good, but kinda mushy. And by 3rd time, she got it PERFECT, couldn't tell the difference between hers and my dads. And I have yet to learn how to make it myself.
It'll get better. I've had to practice a couple of dishes before I got them just right :)
first of all, its first attempt so b kind on urself :D secondly yeah the biryani sure looks v soggy.. there is way way too much masala in it. i used to think my biryani is v maseldarr bhara, but lookin at urs, i changed my mind. hheheehehe :D anyway, next time just make a little less than 1 kilo of chiken masala for a 1 kilo rice. u dun want masala in each and every bite.. u can search up chicken biryani recipe in this forum.
BH, did you not layer??? To not layer is a SIN in the world of Biryanism.
The fact that it tasted good means that your masala must have been tasty.
Some hints, half cook the rice in lots of water, don't stir it too much. Drain when it has a slight bite to it. Layer rice, masala, more rice. Sprinkle with rose water / kewra water / lemon juice / butter / cream infused with saffron...
ur biryani reminds me of my first attempt in looked just like that n i also mixed precooked rice with masala n the spice oh mirchi hi mirchi but my hubby n BILS love masalay dar khana so they liked it
now what i do is that i boil the rice only till it is half cooked i cant make biryani with 3/4 cooked rice and i leave some gravy in my masala and layer the chiken and rice as per the tradition and at the end i add i add that gravy n leave it for dum for 15-20 mins n voila perfect biryani
i hope with practice you'll be a biryani expert
