Well went on the first day it came out..
Quite impressed by the money spent on the movie infact, also the usage of Pakistani’s. At one time it shows them talking to one another in Urdu and then doing namaz and playing Cricket on top of the mountain.
The movie overall, was exciting in some parts. Maybe there could have been a little fix here and there but it was nice.
yeah I agree the CGI shots are not that great but then this is the first movie which depicted a good image of Pakistan, no terrorist images! And not even anything about India!
They showed a good image of kareem who dies for is his cousin as that was his duty.
I have visited the northern areas of Pakistan alot the only thing which bothered me was the accuracy of the movie, the peaks in Pakistan are much more rigid and rockier. I mean I am not an expert but I could tell.
I thought those two Australlian hippies were cool. For the forst time I liked Chris O donald afetr scent of the woman! I think he did a nice job, he needed a good movie after the bachelor and Batman.
The only thing I hated in the movie was freakin Roshan Seth as the Pakistani col. I think they could have chosen Talat Hussain or some othe rPakistani actor who would have made a much more better soldier but then again I am glad Om Puri isnt in the movie after seeing East is East and my son the fanatic.
I had a feeling the movie was shot in the South Asia region. I asked someoen, they told me I was crazy, how could a movie be shot in a place where so much stuff is going on (The kashmir dispute).
Either, way, even if it wasn't shot there, it still tried to depict those areas.
I couldn't agree with you more, Roshan seth is annoying as hell, plus a # of actors could have done a better job.
But atleast the showed Pakistan in a good light, that's an improvement for sure.

yaar the whole movie is shot in New Zealand not Pakistan, as shooting a movie with such hard stunts is impossible to shoot in the karakorams, plus we do not have the facilities in the our northern areas to shoot such a film, but that would have been nice if the movie was shot there!
a lot of the images were shot in Pakistan, (a whole bunch of photographers were sent there for that purpose)and then incorporated in the movie later. Majority of it was done in New Zealand though. I still havent seen the movie…damn exams
i dont think the actors would have bare the cold out in the Pakistani heights, our soldiers should be credited for staying near those high mountain bases
well one think i really appreciate is that the movie gave a good image abt Pakistan, the croed didnt care who was acting as the officers at that time, i would have also preferred that Pakistani actors should have been used instead of the indian, lekin ab kya karsakte hain???
