I really want to use the following verse on my cards, however I’m not sure if it would be appropriate:
***“And among His signs is this, that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that ye may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put Love and mercy between your (hearts), verily in that are signs for those who reflect.” **[ar-Room 30:21]
It's absolutely beautiful. However, it can be a little inconvenient for someone who receives it because they'll have to think carefully about where they will put it and how they discard the invitation. For my wedding invitations, I've omitted all ayahs simply because of this.
I did it :) Had it in Arabic and with English translation. Also had bismillah at the top, and had a hadith on one corner about marriage is half of faith. I loved my card :)
Just like any verse from Quran, that is really beautiful. With wedding cards, and as adults, we just have to a bit careful that they may fall on the ground or get disrespected unintentionally. That's why lot of folks who want to print it on there, don't get it printed.
There is nothing wrong with printing it and no ayat or hadeeth against it, that I know of.
How about printing it and getting it posted at the door step of your hall where this joyous occasion will occur?
what if the some of the recipients of the cards are non-Muslims/non-caring Muslims and they discard them in a disrespectful manner. i think one must avoid such inscriptions on the cards that is going to end up in waste baskets.
