Anybody out there with connections in the venture capital world willing to help me with launching my very unique , poised to turn into multi million dollar business websites ? The website are ready to be launched.
Even if I do not get venture capital I am going to launch them anyway on a shoestring budget.
I can appreciate any kind of tips and tricks to interest venture capitalists.
I have enough professional and business background but no contacts in the VC world. I know these are not the days where you can get money based on your dot com idea. You need viable business and contacts. I have viable business but no contacts.
I live in USA and the websites are USA based but with global appeal.
I can reveal details to people who are serious to help me out.
Re: Venture capital.
:) Yahoo will give you your own website xyz.com or .net or .org for $2.00 first year, $9.00/yr 2nd year and on.........
**Not much Capitol needed.......unless you want to buy your own Server and...........link to search engines..........so is it a product or a service that you will be selling? **
Re: Venture capital.
Thanks for your tips and your help, I really appreciate it.
I am way beyond it. I need capital to launch the website. Hire the team to run in , inventory, working capital, marketing and promotion. Just creating a website and hosting it is not the end of it.
Yes I will be selling a product and a service. The service I will be selling is unique for the world. The product is not unique.
Re: Venture capital.
You should go to dot com City....Redmond Washington....with Feds cutting Prime Rate........Lots of people will feel the urge to venture out into the sunlight from the dark dungeons of Bank Vaults..........:)
Re: Venture capital.
Hi Mirch,
Where are you located? How much are you looking to raise? I know of a couple of firms that you might be able to contact.
I’m assuming that you’ve already worked on your executive summary and overview presentation… but hopefully also on your business model highlighting market opportunity, financial projections, validation, and exit strategy.
I would be interested in at least reading the executive summary before I can forward you some details.

Re: Venture capital.
Cool... i hope we get to see your startup soon.. :)
Re: Venture capital.
I don't think going straight to the VC's is a great idea. Consider developing a prototype first, may be launch the website at a small scale, get some traction and only then go to the VC's. There is a chance of value dilution for you if VC's are involved right from the beginning. On the other hand with a proven service in your hand, you will be better able to leverage your position and get a better deal.
Re: Venture capital.
Websites backed by a good business model are successful one. Unless you have some very revolutionizing idea like google. But you must have a prototype and a convincing presentation to get all the money. Hopefully u must have discussed your ideas with friends both technically and functionally.
If you can post a generalized outline about your project than we might be able to help u improve it.
Good luck :)
Re: Venture capital.
depends on how much do you need to raise. we've raised close to a million dollars just through angel investors since September of last year. although, we are backed by the Canada's largest independent brokerage firm; Canaccord Capital.
Chances are slim that the VCs will jump in merely based on a viable business plan. If you need few hundred thousand, just approach friends, family, family friends etc. Get your model up and running to an extent where it's proven and breaking even. Then go to the next round of funding for expansion, infrastructure etc and shoot for few million dollars.
Good luck..
Re: Venture capital.
