I have a few questions regarding Velvet, would appreciate if someone can help.

1- How do you get velvet in Pakistan? Does it come in suit pieces or do you buy it per yard?

2- Is it dyeable? I wanna get it in a certain color.

3- Does it come in jamavar?

4- Is it easily available? Where in Lahore can it be found?

No it comes in a pastry box.
No, it can never be dyed, otherwise it converts to chiffon.
That’s like saying, Sajju are you Niksik?
It can be found in shop number 45, Anarkali bazaar. Ask Mohsin bhaijaan.

1) can get both. depending on where you look
2) dun think so.
3) isn't jamavar just a special kind of silk?
4) it's winter now, so it should be readily available. it also kidna depends of it's in fashion or not.if velvet is then it should be really available all across the major cloth stores

Buy velvet from Joanne Fabrics here in the US, The quality is much better, and take it to Pakistan for stitching.

Jamavar is actually the glittery motifs and it comes in variety of fabrics ie silks/cottons etc. I guess what I am looking for is a little fancy velvet with some chamak shamak, glittery kinda thing since it's for my daughter.

Pakistan kis k hath bheijoon? :(

fancy velvets come in all types though. like it can come with self imprint motifs, to getting glittery stuff on it. i'm sure u can get stuff with even moti taray on it. auriga center should have velvet. if you want the affordable kind then i would suggest auriga and link road.

ps i really thought jamavar was like silk with almost self-print on it. like hard to explain. though like it's good stuff. shadi type lol

I think so too..

and Sajal there’s lot of variety in velvet too these days..like you can get embroided velvet..It’s available at the back side of liberty market, dupata gali area, also anarkali, Ichra, auriga etc.. since it’s for you lil girl I doubt you want anything too expensive..otherwise some really neat stuff is availabe in Bareezé

^Yup they do..embellished velvet..and well the price was around PKR 8000+ when I visited it last, more than a year ago.
