okay so i am having a velvet gown suit made. so i was wondering if you guys could please post up pictures of pretty gown suits.
or close up of nice kaam which could get done on the velvet.
because i dont see a lot of velvet clothing, so im not sure.

should i have the gown made of velvet only and the kameez, pants and dupatta from another cloth?

how about length and cuts?

or should i not make a gown and instead make another suit/dress, but it should be from velvet.

suggestions PLEASE! i am so unsure, but it has to be velvet, my aunt is making it for me and she said she wants me to choose, she told me the suit is velvet because she has velvet cloth with her. one is red and the other is hot pink. she bought it with a lot of love LOL. its plain right now so i guess i am free to design it.
come on people please suggest, i am clueless

since velvet is a thicker fabric, make sure the fitting is done very well so it doesn't add unnecessary bulk.

i can never understand what to make a shalwar out of if i want a velvet shirt, velvet shalwars are just too bulky, however i believe if u want trousers or capris with them,they look nice in velvet,otherwise i've seen chameuse silk being used with it a lot,im still not sure about what duppata fabric to go with it,maybe pure jamavar or silk?

Raw silk and charmeuse pants go well with velvet shirts, and I would either do a chiffon duppata or shawl.
