I want to know what shade I should have for the velvet on my lengha. The velvet will be going around the lengha skirt and on the jacket. I’m having a red lengha, so should I go for a slightly darker shade of red for the velvet, or keep the same colour as the lengha for the velvet, as it may dye differently?
do you just want to keep a red tone? or you are open to other colours? try different colours against the red just to see how it will look....If you want to keep a deep shade try a mint green or eggplant aubergine colour would really stand out, but if you want to add the spunk to your dress, try orange. Good luck :)
Thanks Pink’d Out. I want to keep it red. But I’m thinking if the velvet does dye darker than the lengha, then I ought to keep the same shade as the lengha for the velvet. If that makes sense…
Make it darkar, like mehroon or something..i think it will look amazing!
You don't want the lehnga to blend it, specially when you're getting it in velvet.. also, it's really difficult to get it in the same shade as the shirt..
I agree, make the velvet a darker shade, it'll look beautiful. I've seen lighter shades of velvet and it'll looked washed out if it's too light, whereas the darker shade will make the work stand out more

Thanks. My lengha is georgette, the velvet will only be a border with gold kaam on top. And my dupatta is net, so the work can be seen. (Although I wasn't too keen on net, I've seen it on almost every bridal outfit here in the UK, and I like the idea of my hair-do showing :)).

Thank you so much MH. I see where you are coming from, I think I'll go for a darker shade. :)
