They are made of Soya granules.
I have seen Sanjeev Kapoor making soy or veggie patties by soaking soy granules first, grind it, and then use it like you'd use regular qeema.
Personally, I wouldn't go for it unless I'm a hardcore vegan.
Re: Veggie patties
I buy the soya mince veggie burgers from Tesco and love them but I guess it would depend on personal taste.
I use soya mince and cook keema dishes, shaami kebabs and lovely pasta dishes too. It cooks quicker and in times of economic hardship its very cheap too!
Re: Veggie patties
some are soya products , some are quorn.
Both are good in my opinion.
My favourite is tescos vegi hotdogs: "Delicious frankfurter sausages made from a blend of soya and wheat proteins with an authentic frankfurter taste." and indeed they are delish.
also asda/tesco do vegi beef cubes. they are brown and have beef texture. i add them to soups.
linda mcartney sauasages and burgers are good too.
whats your favourites?
Re: Veggie patties
Those must be UK brands.... i bought morning star or something like that...
maybe if i smothered those patties in (lo fat) mayo, cheese and (whole wheat) toasted bread they i could have ignored the cardboard-y taste
