VBAC Supportive Doctor in Lahore.

My SIL lives in Lahore and she had a c-section with her first child (2 years ago) in a rather rural area where my FIL was posted. The doctor simply said that the baby had passed meconium and a c-section was necessary…i’ve never heard of that happening in the US…unless the fetal monitoring shows that baby is also in distress. Anyway, she healed up very well, had no problems with her scar and is generally a healthy and active person. She really wants to go for a normal delivery (VBAC) this time around but her current doctor won’t even discuss it with her. She wants a second and third opinion regarding the issue…but doesn’t know many doctors in Lahore that are supportive of VBAC. If you have any reccomendations please post them here!

VBAC Supportive Doctor in Lahore.

From what I’ve heard, Pakistani doctors/hospitals are famous for going straight to a csection for no valid reason. I hope yor sil is able to find a doctor and facility that will support her with a vbac.

Re: VBAC Supportive Doctor in Lahore.

That is exactly why she wants to go for a VBAC this time around, khatti! All my cousins in Pakistan (5 girls) have had c-sections…which is ridiculously high in one family lol! And all of them have the same story…they go to the hospital with reassurances of a normal delivery and once checking for dilation etc they simply state that a c-section is necessary or they won’t have the baby out in time. =/ 2 of my cousins were in rural areas and the rest were in big cities (Lahore and Islamabad) and it’s been the same process. It’s very weird.

If she decides to go for a vbac, then she must have it in a facility where emergency operative facilities are available. She can consult any good leading OB in lahore, shaheena Asif, jehan ara, Yasmin Rashid, samia malik and get their opinions. A 2 year gap makes her a good candidate but depends on how the previous surgeries incision was made.
