'Van cash' manhunt ends in Monaco

**A Frenchman suspected of trying to steal 11.6m euros (£10.4m;$17.4) from the security van he was driving has given himself up, reports say.**Tony Musulin, 39, had been the subject of a nationwide manhunt after he disappeared in Lyon on 5 November.

His empty vehicle was later discovered in central Lyon. Most of the money was found in a nearby lock-up garage.

An official told AFP news agency that Mr Musulin had handed himself in to police in the southern city of Monaco.

“He looked very strange when he visited. We still don’t understand why he did so - we don’t even know if he understood he was in Monaco,” said the official.

Mr Musulin became an internet sensation after he went missing, with some online commentators calling the theft the “heist of the century”.

He was reported to have complained that he and his colleagues were being badly treated and to have told friends “they’ll pay - the bank and bosses”.

Police who visited Mr Musulin’s flat found it unoccupied and cleaned, leading to speculation that he had prepared his getaway in advance.
