Okay, I’ve got a problem with my canine teeth i think theyre called? The problem is that the arch is quite high in comparison to the rest of my teeth, and they stick out also - kinda like vampire teeth.
The rest of my teeth are fine alhamdullah and are in line, but these two teeth are really bothering me. I know that there are bigger problems in the world, and do shukr that they aren’t that bad, but would appreciate some advice?
I could speak to my dentist, tbh prob will end up doing that, but I am a bit embarrassed that he’ll quote a huge sum that I won’t be able to afford.
Mods – wasn’t sure whether to post here or fashion&beauty – pls move where feel appropriate.
we all have vampire teeth.....learn to live with them and laugh with them. I have fairly big teeth and my siblings used to make fun of me. Then one day I decided to change this, I stood up against a mirror and started practising smiling and laughing, I did that for weeks and finally succeeded in giving a beutiful smile without showing my full teeth. Remember that no one is perfect so take it easy.
embrace em. they actually look pretty nice. tom welling has vampire teeth. his just shine brightly and he's a pretty face so it doesn't look that obvious.
^ While cosmetically they may look good but for longevity and health of teeth, not a good idea to file them or ask dentist to do anything to them. Only a dumb dentist will file or erase enamel coatng from a tooth for this reason.
Natural coating on teeth (enamel) is protective and the strongest part in whole body. No one can replace that with anything better.
^ I agree with diwana. It's not a good idea to have teeth filed down to get then straighter and in line with the rest of your teeth. It will weaken your teeth and this will result in problems later on in life.
We all have canine teeth and we have them for a reason...it's so we can tear up and chew our food a lot easier. I know people who have had their teeth filed down so that they're all in line with each other and then they've regretted it because they find it difficult to chew up tough foods like meat etc.
I can understand that they might not seem attractive to you...but everyone has canine teeth that stick out more than the others. If it still bothers you just have a chat with your dentist and he/she can advise you. I'd just leave them though as filing will result in other problems.
Summayyah, I have a cousin whose front tooth was chipped......and she had it filed down. Outwardly, she's got nice teeth....as far as their health or long-term effects are concerned.......I wouldn't know about that as I'm not a dentist.
The SMART thing to do.......would be to pay a visit to a dentist (one with good repute)........and tell him/her your concerns......ask about options.....ask about side effects......ask about recommendations. You can even ask about more cost-effective procedures. THAT would provide you with a much clearer answer because you'll be consulting a professional.
While there's nothing wrong with getting a "general idea" regarding health-related queries on Gupshup.........unless the members are doctors themselves.....you have mostly guesswork to go by. Keep in mind that cases are individual...a treatment that may not have worked for someone could be more applicable to you and vice versa. And when it comes to such issues....it's better to eliminate the guesswork and talk to a physician/dentist. You'll have more peace of mind if this is a huge worry for you.
i think vampire teeth are very attractive..like a birth mark..the higher they are the more beautiful the smile in my opinion..just leave them..nothing can be done about them anyways without cauisng bigger problems wiht your other teeth or jaw or even face
god gave you this .. its yours..its you..and remember
