Aqua has always been the trend. Alot of brides wore pink for walima. Im wearing marron on Barath and Pink on Walima. i didint want to wear 2 shades as i had done that too many times at others weddings. For winter weddings its usualy darkers colours. Just recently red/green was popular.
Peach and blue look good together or peach and pastel green.
Depends on your skin tone to be honest. You can wear what is in trend but it might not suit your skin. You have to be careful not to follow trend too much. X

hey everyone umm i have the same issue…i’m getting married in dec09 and i am confused abt the colour of the valima outfit. I have a wheatish complexion and I want u guys to help me out with the colour of my valima outfit.

I dont think there is any colour that your nikah/walima dress SHOULD be. I wore a light coloured lengha on my nikah reception and dark on my walima. There are no rules about this. At the end of the day, your goal is you look beautiful, not necessarily wear the most popular or typical colour. So just go with what makes you happy, which looks the best on you and suits and flatters you the most. I hope you find something you love! Good luck!!

For valimas i'm a big fan of the following combinations:
- pink and turquoise, pink and mint green, pink and cream
- turquoise (two tones, see Karma shading for ideas)
- gold
- white and silver
- even red/maroon looks great if you wore cream, or any other shade at the wedding. the idea is that you have an entirely different look. that doesn't mean you have to wear pastels as long as you look completely different. even changing up the style of the outfit is enough if you think one color looks amazing on you.

Aqua/turquoise are so played out. Every other bride wears that these days. Go for something unique like white/silver...that combo is just divine.
