This will be my husband’s and My first valentine’s day together. I was thinking of either taking him to Gordon Ramsese Restaurant, but then its like $200 per person. I was thinking to make a special dinner for both of us instead.
Can some one give me a good menu? My Hubby likes meat mostly, and doesnt’ like sweets to much.
I was thinking, Chicken Biryani, lamb chops, keema burray Karalay, raita, naan.
Dessert I was thinking mixed fruit in cream/yogurt with jello. ( I dont want to make like a cake or something like rasmali, because he likes fruit alot, and I like Jello. Also with this I can make just enough for a day, instead of a cake which would be like in my house for a week +
You mentioned that both of you like fruit. For dessert, you also try poached pears served with either ice cream or some type of sauce/custard. I’ve given two recipes for poached pears a go and I’ve quite liked them as they are not too sweet (I’m not a fan of sweets either) and can be served with various things.
This one is nice as well but is a bit sweeter than the first one. It contains white wine. If this is an issue, you can use white grape juice instead. I also decreased the caster sugar by about half. Pears with chocolate sauce | BBC Good Food
Keema bharay karelay!!! I love em. That’s my favorite way of having karelay. I like your overall menu. In my opinion…no point in making dishes typically associated with romantic dinners such as salmon, cous cous, scallops and the sort if your partner doesn’t care for them. Better to make things you both really enjoy. If he’s into halwa puri and chanay, you can even make that breakfast.
We go to western restaurants all the time, but at only fish and veggies, been here in the US for 14 years, don’t feel deprived at non desi- non halal restaurants.
no, but they have a vegetarian option and they do have seafood. I remember watching his shows, and In one episode he was pretty observant of vegetarian dishes. So I guess it would be ok to eat there. Sometimes I get worried like what oil they use though
Thank you! I was a bit nervious as this is my first menu making experience, and to be honest, Ive seen the menus on this forum, I was worried people were going to laugh at this.
