Valentine's breakfast ideas

It’s our first Valentine’s together since marriage and I want to make it special, but due to our current circumstances, I only have access to a microwave and kettle (no stove/hob/toaster!) and limited ingredients - I have bread, nutella, fruit, cheese and biscuits…

I can get hold of a couple more ingredients if necessary, but could anyone suggest some Valentine’s themed breakfast ideas I can pull together with my limited resources?

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

I’m thinking heart-shaped, warm (not toasted… as we have no toaster lol…) bread with nutella and jam toppings, and a cup of tea!

Anything maybe a bit more imaginative??

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

Hot chocolate or Coffee, fresh fruits like strawberries and grapes, maybe strawberries with cream. Cheese platter with assorted cheese and toast or crackers. Or you could make cheese sandwiches.

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

Maybe you can pick croissants or Danish pastries or bagels with cream cheeese from a bakery for breakfast and serve it nicely with orange juice.

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

Hot chocolate with assorted fruits… yes I can do that!!

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

Hasty Chocolate Pudding Recipe

Emergency Brownies

2-Minute French Toast in A Cup add some fresh fruit or a fruit sauce after the egg mixture and before putting it in the MW to make it even more fancy

you can also make any kind of pancakes and french toasts in a microwave, oil a plate well and place soaked french toast/pancake batter on it and cook in the microwave.

you can make a trifle with either the microwaveable brownies above or using store-bought pound cake and heating up the custard in the MW the same way as the chocolate pudding (just use custard powder, sugar and milk instead of all those ingredients) add some fresch fruits, nuts, cream, layer everything that you can get together and there you go! Not fit for breakfast but you can make a dessert lol

Personally I suggest go for either the Eggs Benedict or some pancakes/French Toast. I hope you can find something useful. God Luck!

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

brownies cut into heart shape, drizzle with caramel sauce/chocolate sauce/strawberry sauce

you could make a salad, in a bowl or on stick like this one. This is cucumbers, feta cheese, tomatoes and olives, drizzled in olive oil but you can use your own combination

pasta salad by cooking the pasta in MW

(you could cut the bread and tomatoes in heart shape)

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

You could put together a fruit and cheese platter.
Bagels with herb cream cheese, danish pastries.

Keep breakfast simple but do a nice table setting!

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

Thanks for all the ideas guys! The coffee mug cake, and emergency brownies omg… so so good!

I can’t make all these goodies right now as I don’t have the ingredients (eggs…) but once I get home and have access to a kitchen, and FOOD… I’m totally gonna try these out!

Thanks for the ideas… I’ll try to post a picture of what I concoct tomorrow (as long as it’s disaster free!)

Re: Valentine’s breakfast ideas

Sorry makd, I dont have a MW so I dont know if its authentic or not, but baking in MW is tricky, even a minute overcooked can turn into a disaster so you have to keep a close watch.
