Vailay Vloggers

So...

When vloggers share unnecessary and minute details of the their lives, do you ever wonder (with sarcasm) if it's only a matter of time before they also invite the world to view the contents of their toilet bowl?

I know, I know, you don't have to watch them. Still, what are some things that irk you about them?

Discuss.

I hate vloggers. I was never a fan of Casey Neistat, even when the entire world thought he was hot sh!t, back in the early 2010's.

I don't care about what you do in your day, as long as it doesn't affect mine. Also, I do not believe they deserve the kind of attention people give them. Look at the Paul brothers for example, they bring nothing to the table, absolutely jack, zero, zilch, nada, and yet bring in millions in revenue from their YouTube channel alone. I do not understand how Logan Paul could get more views on a video than someone like Evan Hadfield (Astronaut Chris Hadfield's son) who has a fantastic YouTube channel called Rare Earth that has barely a million subscribers. Or other YouTube channels like LEMMINO and Wendover Productions/Half As Interesting. People that do months of research and put in a ton of effort into making their videos.

Same can be said about the automotive side of YouTube, channels like DailyDrivenExotics bring in tons of views with their absolutely worthless and heavily clickbait content, where as channels like Carfection and Evo, with their cinematic levels of video quality and fantastic narration, get left behind the curve because they avoid putting '$1 million!!!' in the title and thumbnail of their videos. I would even go as far as to call Doug DeMuro's videos borderline trashy content.

Nowadays everyone seem to run after fame and the addiction has grown up so much that people dont mind telecasting their bedrooms in the videos. And the middle class people not only watch and like those videos but also want to be one of them. The day is not far when sohaag -raat videos will be happily telecasted for all and sundry to watch through vlogging. East or west, i see total destruction of values and family system within next 30 years.

I don't follow entire vlogs, just the bits that interest me. If a vlog is going off-topic, I don't continue. Yet I've noticed the oversharing you are referring to. I think such people regret doing so at some point.

I used to watch vlogs of an Indian student who was a straight A student through out her life. She chose the toughest courses, the toughest programs and remained at the top. She shared all the ups and downs, and how she handled them. It was super informative and her entire life is on YouTube, 90% of which I have no interest in. But she doesn't seem to regret sharing that at all. Perhaps she aced that as well. But I've heard many top vloggers stopped vlogging when they were at their peak because of the toll it was taking on their lives.

I hate the those vlogs content which don't have any positive results ...

An overweight blogger that I won't name tries really hard to make obesity beautiful in the eyes of the masses. That is seriously and literally her mission and she goes about it by often wearing revealing clothes and too much makeup. All her efforts cannot conceal her insecurity. There was one cringey moment where she asked her husband to tell the viewers what term of endearment he always calls her (the term meant "beautiful" in another language)...and it just smacked of insecurity, like she really really really wanted the world to know her husband calls her that.

Another vlogger whom I stumbled upon was complaining that she will stop vlogging because she feels that everyone knows everything about her, whereas she knows nothing about others and that she fears the evil eye. Are you dense? Of course people know all about your life because you vlog about it and if you're that fearful about nazar then stop showing people about your ostentatious lifestyle. Griping about it just makes you sound like an idiot.

It's not a wise idea to show off all your naimatain the way some of these vloggers do.

The way they reveal every little teeeny-tiny-itsy-bitsy-eechy-beechy detail about their lives is disturbing. Things people don't need to know. Like what's next? Talking about your bowel moments and showing samples of your feces? I dunno....

Children....ohhhh the children. When little girls that are only 4-5 years old start doing makeup tutorials and acting like jet-setting fashionistas, I fear the impacts of this on their psyche and personality.

All the above examples that I've mentioned are Desi vloggers. Now I rarely watch them. I prefer more informative videos on various topics or parodies.

I think the problem goes back to quality v/s quantity. Now we have zillion vloggers who try to post all random sh!t just get number of views/subscribers and then make good enough $$. I'm sure a lot of them make more than me lol.
But yea there wont be any quality in there.

Luckily I dont follow even a single one. Even that guy Zaid Ali used to be good in his clips but then as soon as he started pulling in his wife and their activities things like what they do, what he got for her bla bla i was like STFU. dont follow him anymore

I think that Rahim Pardesi and even Sunny Jafri are funnier than Zaid Ali. Their acting skills are better than Zaid Ali. But even Rahim Pardesi has become annoying now with his materialism and bringing his 2 wives into his videos as he is trying super hard to make his fans accept his lifestyle and thus maintain his popularity.

The showing off is more common with the Desi vloggers than with non-Desi it seems. But of course they’ll never admit to it. They will say chit like, “Oh our viewers are like our family and we want to share our joys and pain with our family.” Bull-chit. They are not like your family, they are a means to making money for you guys. Then you have the cheesy viewers who defend the vloggers with cheesy comments like, “Thank you for sharing your life us. Makes us feel like family.” Vicious cycle. :smack:

Hello guys! I read all of your post and this is nice. By the way, i am shopping lover and i like traveling with shopping so i want to know about the Karachi fashion. If you know about there fashion so share with us.

Tsk tsk someone got a bad Doug Score! :teary1:

I didn’t even know the other bloggers. Logan Paul is famous and I found him on YouTube itself since Lance Stewart was “friends” with him back when he used to be in LA. He even went to his wedding which I think has already resulted in a divorce.

No one is really forcing anyone to watch videos. I have subscribed to different channels but I haven’t watched many of their videos for months. YouTube algorithm works in mysterious ways when you have a lot of subscriptions. I have been more into the creepypasta skinwalker night shift crazy driver stories in the last two weeks.

I miss the era of Phillip DeFranco, Ray William Johnson and that Rubik’s cube guy who’s name I’ve forgotten.

I used to enjoy Doug’s columns on Jalopnik way back when, and that’s about it. His videos are mildly entertaining at best. But you’re right, it isn’t the content that gets you on the front page, it’s the algorithm and what YouTube deems “appropriate”.

Everyman driver used to be fun when Dave Erickson used to actually off-road in the ORV park. TFL is fun to watch off road vidoes.

Doug is quirky. If you want to watch detailed car videos then you better head on over to Alex on Autos or Engineering Explained.

Vloggers are more worried about staging living than actually living. I find vogs and other such content to be highly repugnant and inauthentic at its core.
