Vacuum cleaners in Pakistan

Salams,

Okay so random query - but are vacuum cleaners with a rotating brush easily available in Pakistan? When I go to Pakistan, vacuuming my room is like the worst chore - it takes so much more energy and time than when I’m in the states, as it is suction only, no wheels or rotating brush. My husband thinks that the kind of vacuum I am used to in the States wouldn’t work on the kind of carpet we have in Pakistan, but I’m not sure. Any clues? I just want to be able to vacuum regularly in five or ten minutes as opposed to an hour or more! Is that too much to ask?

Side Note: When I was in Jordan for the summer, my friend who recently moved there from the States told me she had the hardest time finding an upright vacuum with rotatiing brush there as well - and it was so much more expensive than the others - whyyy??

Any help would be most appreciated.

Re: Vacuum cleaners in Pakistan

Don't know, but p'raps u should take a small one with u next time u go.

Re: Vacuum cleaners in Pakistan

thats because no one has carpets in pakistan, everywhere has marble/stone floors :) why would you need a rotating brush

And servants to do the JHAAROO se safaii PLUS not to forget:no electricity most of the times :halo:

hmm....yeah but our bedroom and the formal drawing room have wall to wall carpeting, and yeah, we don't really have full time safai waali's, and im just used to being able to vacuum regularly...plus that brush thingie i use to manually clean the carpet, aside from the vacuum, reaks havoc on my hands - ouch!

thanks anyways...

Yes they are available, we brought my MIL one, it was somewhere in Pindi, the whole road was for electrical items.
