Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

Maroush :naraz: … I will have to keep an eye on you now :chai:

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

how can we tell what is life and death situation? A simple headache can become a life death situation. Sickness is sickness and every bit of it is a threat to your life.

thats why I take red wine to prevent cardiovascular problems later :halo:

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

Mashallah, and i heard that you walk to casino instead of driving to burn some calories.

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

^ :hehe:

On a serious note though…why are we so eager to excuse gelatin in these vaccines? Im a little curious now. :hmmm:

no thats just to stop for some muttah along the way :smilestar:

abay I am making a point, at what time does something preventative become allowed, if we say flu vaccine (which i did not take this year btw) is good for your health, then so is red wine, it has shown its benefits.

so where is the tipping point

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

Hmmm, that's the thing...where do you draw a line?

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

i carry an eraser with me for lines anyways.. :)

seriousy though, if you have a family history of heart disease and red wine is supposed to help with that, should you take it? in order to prevent or delay the onset of disease or decrease the severity of it?

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

I don’t know. It makes sense to take it but then you could say that as a muslim, resisting what Allah has ordered would draw additional blessings from Allah swt that could protect us without the red wine :hmmm:

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

yes that is true, plus I think other antioxidants provide similar benefits.

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

For medicinal purposes, aik glassy of vino should be ok.... after all it's for the preservation of human life.

But then what if it turns to dho, teen, chaar... DAS glassy?? That on a regular basis too? You're directly causing another health problem. Self-inflicted as well.

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

but then u should stop after one glass beyond that its less of a medicinal thing and more of a getting tunn thing

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

I really think the person you spoke to had a point there Niks.

What if we are just taking the easy way out?

What if we're just being lazy and not looking hard enough for solutions that could probably provide the same benefits but not be haram?

Do you stop after one biscuit, one doughnut, one chocolate piece?

If no, then, what makes you think you’d stop after one glass of wine…:5:

If yes, then you have good self-restraint. Please teach me!!!

yes

trust in my self control.

okay, say when

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

i think it shud be permissible if its for good health and safety.
even alcohol and drugs are allowed for medication purposes i don't see a reason why it shud'nt be for medical purposes

Re: Vaccinations/meds and their Halal-ity

Isn't gelatin used for setting a liquid, wonder how can it be used in a vacc. may be it is used in some process while making vacc. I don't get my son un-necessary vaccinations, things life flu wagerah he should get develop natural immunity to those bugs :)

Back in Oct/Nov there was that big hangama regarding swine flu, OMG ppl lined up like for hours, to get theri kids vaccinated, but without underlying medical issues, or age, not sure if it was needed. Vaccines can have potential side effects later in life according to new studies, sorry going off topic like red wine posts :)
