The year before,

at least u didn't get the line i got when i hinted him abt flowers..."oh how abt i send em to u the next day, they will be much cheaper " i was like NO...thats just cheap.
hahah reminds me of my fiance..on our way bak from v-dinner and a beautiful gold bracelet he asked me if i wanted a rose. i said yes. he got out of the car , bot one and said "it's 75 Rs. today" hahaha guys can b cheap haha
I agree with you Chameli!! There's just too much of this stuff, and I think it causes more pressure then necessary- there's birthdays, eids, mother's day, father's day, V-days, etc!! . I could understand exchanging gifts once a year with everyone, like say on Eid, and maybe a cake on b-days, but this expecting gift on so many days has just gone overboard!
Love n care should be shown everyday! That is so TRUE!!! Also when you make certain days where you expect a gift from your loved one that gifts has lost so much specialness....cuz it is sooooooo expected. An unexpected gift given when the loved desires it is sooooo much better and so less tense- they are sincerely doing it out of love then- not because of some social pressure!
I totally agree. My hubs and I love each other everyday and show it in different ways (teasing each other, hugging, laughing, cuddling etc) Why do we need 1 day out of the whole year to prove it? Plus, there are so many other occasions girls expect gifts..like u said,Eid,birthdays, anniversaries and such. This year for my bday he gave me money and told me to buy what I want..for v day, neither of us did anything special cuz we don't need to "show" or "prove" our love with a piece of cardboard (i.e v day cards) or with some piece of nature (flowers) or fat/calorie laden chocolates. By the way-he gave me chocolates earlier and there was no occassion. Well, we went grocery shopping and he put a few chocolate in the basket and at home we share it together..now THATS special!
