when we were engaged i sent him perfume and a bouquet of roses to his work.. he nearly died of embarrassment.. all day i was like “loser! didnt get me anything”.. got home and there was a MASSIVE bouquet and teddy sitting on my bed.. those were the days..

nothing much has happened since we got married but V-day is special nonetheless.. we try to be EXTRA nice to one another.. lol since its on a saturday this year.. might organise a picnic for the 3 of us on the beach or something..

I agree with you Chameli!! There's just too much of this stuff, and I think it causes more pressure then necessary- there's birthdays, eids, mother's day, father's day, V-days, etc!! . I could understand exchanging gifts once a year with everyone, like say on Eid, and maybe a cake on b-days, but this expecting gift on so many days has just gone overboard!

Love n care should be shown everyday! That is so TRUE!!! Also when you make certain days where you expect a gift from your loved one that gifts has lost so much specialness....cuz it is sooooooo expected. An unexpected gift given when the loved desires it is sooooo much better and so less tense- they are sincerely doing it out of love then- not because of some social pressure!

Were engaged, this is our third Valentines day. The first one since we live in florida, He took me on a helicopter tour of all the beaches, Yes ive seen them all but not like in the middle of the bay. It was very romantic, last year he got me a diamond braclet and took me out to eat at a really nice resturant on the beach again lol. This year i have no idea. I thought he wasnt going to be in town. But he is.... so i dont know what to do.

so he called me today and he was like you know its Feb... i was like so ?
he was like Vday is coming.
i was like oh yeh :P so should i expect something.

and guess what he said.... hhmm No cuz only less then a week left so if i sent u anything u wont get it on time :S how about you make a rain check (huh always doing it)

then he was like let me see what can i do.... i told him you dont have to.... thats okey but he was like no i want to :P

but still i am not expecting anything ... its better not to expect anything and then get something then to expect something and not get anything at all

at least u didn’t get the line i got when i hinted him abt flowers…"oh how abt i send em to u the next day, they will be much cheaper "
i was like NO…thats just cheap.
but he surprised me with a heart shaped cookie cake this past friday, he said last year he wanted to get it for me but i didnt let him surprise me…so this year he got it early so i dont bug him…it was sooo sweet :jano:

I wonder what he’ll be doing this time, on my bday he surprized me by sending a bday cake and flowers and cards, that was sooooo sweet surprize:wub:

Let see what he’ll be gona do tis time, although i dont have much expectations, cuz sumone above mentioned very true that its better to expect less to get more rather then expecting more and getting nothing, atleast its less painfull

But from the bottom of my heart, i’ll be waiting for something sweet from him, aaahhhh i wonder why we cant lie to ourselves
