Utter 'Ameen'

:salam2:

We all know that when the Imam says (while offering prayer): 'Ghair-il-Maghdubi 'Alaihim Walad-Dallin (i.e. not the path of those who earn Your Anger, nor the path of those who went astray), then we are ordered to must say, ‘Ameen’.

Anyone would like to tell what is the benefit (reward) of saying ‘Ameen’.

Re: Utter 'Ameen'

yes...good question....
and if someone could also explain why it is said aloud for this surah?

Re: Utter 'Ameen'

I thought it was because surah fatihah was also a dua, you say ameen at the end of a dua.

Re: Utter ‘Ameen’

Peace All,

According to a hadith of Sahih Bukhari, Hadith No. 2, and Book 'Prophetic Commentary on the Quran (Tafseer of the Prophet :saw2: )

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah’s Apostle :saw2: said, "When the Imam says: 'Ghair-il-Maghdubi 'Alaihim Walad-Dallin (i.e. not the path of those who earn Your Anger, nor the path of those who went astray (1.7)), then you must say, ‘Ameen’, for if one’s utterance of ‘Ameen’ coincides with that of the angels, then his past sins will be forgiven."

The chain of narrators goes like that: Abdullah bin Yusuf reported from Imaam Maalik who reported from Sami Maula abi Bakr, who reported from Dhakwan ABu Salah As-Saman who reported from Abu Hurairah who heard from Prophet Muhammmad :saw2:
