Went to a concert Friday night in NJ. Ustad Vilayat Ali Khan on Sitar accompanied by Ustad Zakir Hussian on Tabla. Simply magical. Zakir Jee puts his soul into playing Tabla.
Looks like some of us are livin on a island :
no “get togethers”, no melas, no good food, no tabla concerts etc etc.
I think we better not visit Gupshup too often, you guys are makin us jealous.

BK, there is Zakir’s concert Saturday night (9/16) in the city. Where about do you live? I called the box office, and tickets are sold out. I will be going to see if I could get a pair of tickets (both my wife and I are a big fan). He will be accompanied by Shanker, and T.H. Vinayakram (who plays “Ghatam” (clay pot)).
