Using Your Voice: Volume, Rate, Pitch & Pronunciation

This is called kirat If I m correct. How do I learn to control my voice as an Imam? Its not hard to read namaz outloud, but how do I do it with absolute control? A friend of mine told me there is special training for this (kirat) but I have no idea if he s right or not. Maybe some one inhere can help me out and has some more information? Uncle Google didnt help me out this time :frowning:

Re: Using Your Voice: Volume, Rate, Pitch & Pronunciation

It is always good to learn Qirat from someone who already knows it as he can guide you better regarding the pronounciation & rules etc of Qirat. Having said that, begin by learning the pronounciation of each letter and the rules and then practicing it over and over. There is also a quran available nowadays which has each letter/word hightlighted with different color to help you with your Qirat. If you find that helpful, more power to you though I never used it so can’t tell how helpful it really is. Once you know the pronounciation of each letter and the rules, you will be good-to-go (to start) insha’Allah. A good way to practice what you’ve learned is to open the Quran randomly* (as you will not know what is coming next)* and practice reciting it with what you’ve learned.

EDIT: As for your voice, do not try to change your voice a lot if it is going to mess up your pronounciation. Stick with whatever helps you the most :k:

Always remember these four lines my qaari sahib taught me:

"always be natural and cool.
when reciting dont be a fool
Take it easy and take a rest
cause mah homie Allah knows best"
- Rahmat-ud-deen sahib

Re: Using Your Voice: Volume, Rate, Pitch & Pronunciation

first u have to learn alpabets pronounciation. for this i suggest first learn from any of ur arabic friend n then consult some Qari or scholar.

n then u have to practice more n more of recitation of Quran.

pitch, amplitude kinda stuff comes automatically with the proper pronounciation.

its always handy to listen to Imam-e-Kaaba.

ps. do listen to Qari Abdul Basit.
