Getting away with trafic voilation is all cool but stares from girls … Uhh sometimes really gets annoying

I agree with you Riya. But people like you and me are somewhat victim of this bias. It is not as if you present our good looks as our aptitude… It is responsibility of people who are in position to judge us on the basis our inner beauty. They should realize that asides from body of a model and face like an angel, we also have a heart of pure gold :k:

i would never flirt, to get something i want now way! if your gonna flirt to get what you want, might aswell get down and beg:D i am very good at getting discounts but by negotiating. i see girls flirting all the time to get what they want its just sad.

hmmm. IDK. Its human (AND animal!) nature to admire beauty. And if that happens to be one of your assets then I see nothing wrong in using it. Dont get me wrong here, I'm not talking about prostitution or topless dancing here. But if you have attractiveness, its been shown time and time again that you will go further in life, that you will get more assistance in every aspect of your life and career and you will likely earn more money in whatever it is you choose to do. And that doesnt mean you have to look like Angelina Jolie or Brad Pitt - if you dress nicely, are nice and shiny clean, have a nice smell without overpowering, if you have a sunny, professional and confident disposition...THIS is attractive even if your specific features are not! If you approach life in this manner, people will go out of their way to talk to you, to help you, to befriend you, to help advance your career. I have seen this countless times.

I was talking to my friend and he was saying how girls have it easy… they get out of all sorts of tricky situations by using their looks to their advantage… for example he said his girlfriend keeps using her charm and looks to get out of things like late or missed assignments and once even wriggled out of a speeding ticket by talking and all nice and flirty with the officer… flashing giant smiles here and there .. while I agree its morally wrong, sometimes girls dont even do anything themselves and others just give them whatever they want based on their own lustful inclinations What does bother me though is when ditzy stupid little girls get jobs based on their looks when they’re not even qualified for them… thats totally unfair to everyone adn i wish people would stop doing that… I myself once got a job when I was only 18 as a secretary in a medical office and felt so bad later on when another girl who had been there was seriously ticked cuz she had loads of experience and really needed the job… me I was just a newbie and didnt need it as a source of income.. it was all for fun… and the only thing I can think of is that she was rejected cuz of her looks.. (not a sloppy dresser or badly presented, she was just average looking)

Has anyone here ever used their looks to get what they want or witnessed something like that happening? And what do you think of this practice? Right or wrong?

ok so heres a question...you are blessed by Allah/God with brains. They get you further than the person who is not so blessed. Nothing wrong with that. SO...I ask...what is so very different when you are blessed with "looks" ie., are so good looking that you are advanced more readily than your average-looking person?

"Using your looks" does not mean that you need to flirt. Or do ANYTHING distasteful or out-of-the-ordinary. Sure, it will help to bat long, dark eyelashes at a traffic cop...but I'm talking about professional world or even the "mommy-world" where a confident, well-dressed, clean and well-spoken mom is representing the interests of her child. They are take SO much more seriously and with so much more goodwill than an unattractive or poorly dressed, unconfident person.

I've had the good fortune to be blessed with a good career and I found that if I followed the path that I've described, my bonuses were among the highest in my group (yes I worked my TAIL off but so did my colleagues but the thing is, the traders LIKED to see my cheerful and confident self to fix their problems...sure I did my job well and quickly but it helped ALOT that I attended to my looks - professional and ladylike)....and then as a mom, the better dressed I am and the more confident happiness I exude, the better it is for me to attain whatever goal it is I'm seeking.

These things can be accomplished even if you're a hijaabi so dont get on me about being all slutty lol! That isnt the point here....the point is to be and LOOK LIKE a clean, happy, confident person and you will attract goodwill and assistance like flies to honey.

ps i posted a while back about this woman I used to work with. She was a top-earning VP and was a REALLY sexy lady...but if you actually LOOKED close enough at her face, she was horribly ugly, to the point that one could say she was almost deformed. But she was spectacularly fit, always cheerful, dressed to the nines, smelled like heaven without overpowering, confident and VERY good at her job. A lady to admire I think.

if you had the brainz then u know what you are tlaking about, and hopefully get the job and would be good at your job etc. if the same person with brainz went to audition for a beauty contest would they be able to get though with just there brainz.
how about you get the job based on your looks then dont have a single idea on what to do. hmmmmm

No one said to abuse it here...but rather to use it to advantage (without being vulgar about it). I mean, you have a customer support center, an irate customer (which is a fairly common occurrence) and you have two people to choose between to go fix the problem. Both are very competent but one is clean, shiny, happy and professional. The other is ho-hum in every way. Who would YOU send?

Another scenario. You're in charge of a bunch of recruits in your profession. All need your guidance. But some are shiny clean, perky, interested, nicely dressed, all crisp and loving life. Others are dressed OK, passably dressed, passably enthusiastic. Which ones are you inclined to go the extra mile for?

i understand what your saying, but dont agree with you. i am a Manager myself and i choose the right person for the job based on there experiance, qualification and there personalitly, yes appearence does come in to it. but thats not whats gonna make me make my decision.

looks cannot and should nto be taken for their superficiality. there is research which says that good looking individuals, do capture attention, but their behavior is just as important, even more like anyone else's.

normally, i hope that good looking anyone, is humble and nice to be around.

normally, people who are good looking, get to hear that they are arrogant, that they are different... but, only sometimes, good looking people wish that people do not take advantage of their genuine niceness.
