any one know how to use star anise, do you boil it in water before adding the leaves? I had the yummiest green tea ever at a club last night. It had a star anise floating in it. For me green tea has always been putting few leaves in pot, adding hot water and putting the lid on for dum. and squeeze a lemon before serving.

I think just put it when you would put tea on dum otherwise it will alter the taste of green tea by its own aroma n taste

exactly as AFayiz said .. just as you put the tea on dum , add a single piece of star anise .. if its only a cup or two add in half a piece of a star anise flower .. it can carry a really strong taste …
One of friends simply uses a powdered form of Star Anise .. she adds a tiny little pinch of it in the tea pot before pouring hot water on top …
