Every year my familt throws a huge party in hall and we invite many people. Obviously some people are forgotten or just not invited bacuse we dont know them that well. But usually when the word of the party gets out people phohne our house and says stuff like “oh i bought you a suit” or “i wanted to invute u for dinner”.
My parents feel bad and invite them. I am just wondering if this is common or is it just weird?

couple of weeks ago i threw a wedding party as none of ma frds attended ma wedding and after the party i met this gal in mosque and she started complaining me how she found out that i gave a party n didnt invite her blah blah......n i stood there thinking we are not even close friends.....its jst i know her from masjid and we say salam n thats about it..... huh
i felt bad
but yeh sometime we end up inviting people who we dont know really well or we dont want to invite them but we do cuz "loog keya kahain gay" sorta thing
Do they also mention the party when they call? I can imagine it happens but I've never seen or heard of any particular incidents.
yeah we have a family friend uncle, so every year he invites like the whole pind of long island, and the place where is at you get no room to sit, JUST TO MANY PEOPLE,

Happened at my sister's wedding too...people heard and started calling all of a sudden because they wanted to be invited to the events and the wedding. We started with a guest list of 250 and somehow ended up with 300!

i cant understand people who complain directly. oh you didnt invite me! well take a hint will u!
but that being said i get tricked as well. how ever to all those who complain and start conversations with shikwa (yes u who start a fone convo wid u didnt call me in last 2 mins type) it is unpleasant and drives others up the wall.
