Using my SD card

I have 2 questions please:

  1. I have a ton of pictures that are saved in my “Gallery” on my phone. I want to move them to my SD card that I bought and installed a few weeks ago. How do I do that? (Eventually I do want to move them out on to my laptop but I do have a USB cable and the android file transfer app for that purpose)

  2. Is there way to have an auto setting on the default camera app where all ur photos and videos are saved on the SD card instead of the phone storage?

I know there’s a file manager app one can use so can I please have the link as well as simple instructions for the above 2 please? Sincere appreciation.

Re: Using my SD card

It should automatically ask you if you'd like to use ur SD card as storage when you start up that app with the SD card in place. If it doesn't go into the settings and in the storage location you should be able to change the settings.

To move all your pictures you'd need to use the Android File Transfer app. Make sure the settings on the S3 is set to Camera (PTP) and not Media device (MTP).

Re: Using my SD card

In camera app, hit the setting icon (gear wheel on top left) and all the way to bottom, you will see storage. You can set the storage to your 'Phone' or to your 'memory card' there.

Re: Using my SD card

Got it!

  • Under the Settings in the Camera app, under Storage you can select Phone or SD.
  • Done with the PTP as well.

Thanks.
