Alot of the cooking in my family involves using methi seeds, as in putting them in oil first before starting anything else.
They add a rally good flavour to dishes but do tend to leave quite a bitter after taste, is their anyway to avoid this bitter aftertaste?
Re: Using methi seeds in cooking
methi seeds? or mustard seeds?
Re: Using methi seeds in cooking
methi not mustard.
Re: Using methi seeds in cooking
you have to make sure that oil is hot when you put mustard or methi seeds in, let it splatter for only 5-10 secs before you add onions. dont leave it in oil for too long it will burn and get bitter...
some ppl actually prefer that bitter taste but if yo don't like it then do as i mention above.
