Using matrimonial sites

Has anyone used and had success with a matrimonial site to find a rishta? I’m thinking about creating a profile as we don’t really have a social circle here in the US and was wanting to hear about others’ experiences. Do random ppl contact you for no reason? Tips?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Using matrimonial sites

I say, go for it ... it's no different than meeting someone walking down the street in a park, or even at school !!!!
I've tried it, it's a hit or miss, and yessss people will contact you just for the hell of it, who say they are serious, but in reality aren't. but honestly, that happens more often in real life, so I wouldn't complain about that.

one tip - don't readily give your contact information before talking a little bit first strictly online, you'd be surprised how many people will steer away just because you won't exchange numbers/email addresses so quickly, and that's a good thing !!!

besides that, good luck !

I personally know 4 couples who have gotten married off of dating/matrimonial sites, so it doesn't hurt to try

Re: Using matrimonial sites

No, never tried it. There was a thread here as well where people posted rishta for themselves or someone they knew.

Re: Using matrimonial sites

Yes and they are working great for lots of people. There are apps out that are free. Makes these stupid matrimonial events a rea waste of money, but I've run into a lot of people that found their spouses through those events too.

Re: Using matrimonial sites

I met my husband on a matrimonial website

Online dating/ Matrimonial sites are a numbers game, you'll contact alot of people most won't respond and if they do, they'll flake/fade on you as well. You'll need thick skin, if your hot/rich/educated you'll get all the attention if your not you wont get as much so with that being said.

Muzmatch I find is for more religious, the app is buggy but is probably the best muslim app out there.
Minder if they are not as religious but still looking for muslims. Although you still might find the same people on both apps. But I find you'll find more drinkers/hookah people on minder.
Tinder: very rare you'll find someone muslim on here, most of them are just trolling.

Shaadi.com - Large user base but mostly parents looking for their sons and daughters. Really expensive.
Halfourdeen.com: this site is also for more religious folks and has a wide variety of people, pakistani/indian/arabs as well. This one is paid but its cheaper than shaadi.com
