Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

Has anyone taken their GHD hair straightnere to Pakistan and used it there?
it is dual voltage so i am thinking it will work but i am afraid I dont want to ruin it, its expensive.
So want to know if anyone has used it before?

Thanks,
Sana

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

I took mine :) however each time i was using them i was extremely nervous and on edge :s maybe the best thing is to get cheap straightners and then if something happens something happens...

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

my cousin got one from london and its going great without any problem !!
so i think u should take it with you :)

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

I was in Pakistan in May and I took my straightener there. My cousin got me this converter that was very very heavy. I just used to put it on the floor with my straightener plugged into it and use it with no problems at all.

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

i have a similar problem, i bought the SinglePass Professional Straighening & Styling Iron recently and its SAYS its world voltage, which im guessing means it works on 110 and 220 v but im still nervous about using it in pakistan. i dont want it to burn because the warrantly wouldnt cover if it did and i would lose $22 CDN too :( would anyone know through experience if these dual/world voltage hair straightners actually do work in pakistan? should i take a converter just in case?

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

anyone else have relevant experiences?

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

(first of all yayyyyyyy my first ever comment here, i am a newbie)

I have used my GHDs in pakistan and there hasnt been any problem. Ofcourse I was once straightening my hair and we had a power cut (surprise surprise), got me worried as I thought my ghd was putting too much load on the system or something and the fuse has blown because of that!!! hehe turned out it was just a power cut..... I didnt use any converters, we have the three pin sockets so it was easy for my to plug in and go....

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

used it here for 2 years with a converter plug. Works just fine! I really don't want anything to happen to my GHD, its probably one of the best investments I've ever made

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

THe GHD works fine in Pakistan, I sent it for my SIL who lives there… been 2 years so far and its going good. The only thing that can possibly damage it is the infamous voltage fluctuation, so if you’re really scared… make sure you plug it into a voltage stabilizer (although those are bulky) or a Surge protector like this one Amazon.com: VCT USP600 - Universal Power Strip 6 Outlets 100V to 220V/250V and 3500 Watts Built-in Universal Surge Protector with Window Shutters and Circuit Breaker for Worldwide Use : Electronics.
I prefer the surge protector since its light weight and you can buy it here and take it with you, just make sure you get a universal one.

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

They do work but most of the time is getting electricity in the first place. A couple of visits ago the loadshedding situation was ridiculous when I was there and our generator wasn't all that powerful so I didn't want to damage my GHD's.

The last time I went to pak I had my hair chemically straightened which was a godsend.

Re: Using GHD straightner in Pakistan

Yep I took mine before and it works a treat no probs at all.
