** khizaa'N k akhri diN they bahar aa'ee na thei hawa k lumps maiN ik be-sada se naghmi mehsoos hoti thei

kuch aisa he sama tha jab
wo meray bakht k sehra maiN sawan ki tarha utri
meray ssansoon maiN mehki thei
nigha’hoN k staaray arzoo k astaaray they
tamana’ooN k sail shoq maiN bahnay lagi thei wo
meray seenay pe sar rakh k achaank muskuraa’ee
aur kuch kahnay lagi thei wo…
na janay kia tha wo jumla!
wo us ka adhkaha jumla!
jo gunchay ki tarha un kaanptey hoontooN pe phoota tha!
usi lamhay Koyal baray dard se kooki thei
wo jesay achanak neend se jaaghi thei
aur us ne baray dukh se galak ki simat dekha tha
“sitaara shaam ka roshan huwa ab maiN chalti hooN”**
