We have all almost upgraded to smart phone, except for brother Shak. He has a blackberry. :o
So, with the advent of Smart Phones for a few years now, do you still have any DumbPhones at home or work? What possible uses can you think of for those phones? Think projects, parts, anything that you know you can make use of.
These phones are still great for emergency calls. Given the fact that they have exceptional battery life, these are great to have as a backup when you are going on a long road trips or camping. Just keep the phone off till you need it.
We still have our Nokia 3310, and that sucker can survive 3 days without recharging.

This is probably too cumbersome a task, but has anyone thought of swapping their laptop webcam for the old phone camera? Considering that some of the phone cameras are better quality than the basic webcam that comes with laptops? Just a thought....
Teggy, my mom has an iPhone 5S now. She has been an smart phone user for long now.
Don't know about the dumb phone, but you can use your old android phone as a webcam. You need to download an app, and a small plugin on your computer, and as long as both devices are connected to the sane Wi-Fi, you can stream live video from android to any application on your computer
Hmmmm... I would love to do it but i don't have a spare laptop to mess around with. Aap try karein na, or results yaha share karein :D
I just might. :D

Yep. The old phones are good for the trip to Makkah/Madinah. Long battery life.
Infact, I'm on a lookout for a camera free dumbphone for trips to Masjid Nabawi.
Not all of these were mine. Half of these belonged to people in the family who, at some point in time, disowned these poor things. They now find refuge in my humble electronics landfill. About ten to twelve of these still work flawlessly. Thank you Perceived Obsolescence.
The four Nokia 5230’s on the left (including the desecrated one), two of those were mine and have been the love of my life for a long, long time. Until my current smartphone replaced them. Thank you Perceived Obsolescence.
