I know it’s an old debate and would have been discussed many times whether we can use or not beauty products that contain alcohol ranging from body sprays, lotions, hair serums, aftershaves, deodorants to almost every product that we daily use.
I have ***heard ***that it is permissible to use since alcohol eventually evaporates and is used in a small amount etc etc. but I am not sure if it’s true or not.
I request you guys to kindly provide me with the ruling on the use of alcohol based products or any other authentic source for reading.
I don't know about any ruling whether its permissible or not, but I, for myself use those products i.e. syrups, Attar and body-spray which are alcohal free.
since alcohol is Najis [naa-paak, unclean...in Islamic terminology], it's najis even it evaporates. it's use would NOT sanctioned in Islam UNLESS it's needed for treatment of a disease/illness if there is NO other option available.
Alcohal is pure of impure? Different scholars have different opinions. As per Surah Al Maidah's verse 90, alchoal is "Nijis" (Na-paak) and handiwork of shaitan and we should avoid use of it. Better to ask a qualified scholar.
As long as you are not drinking,consuming or eating it or getting intoxicated by smelling it you should be fine.
Although majority of Islamic scholar consider it najis , napaak , impure but I fail to understand what will make it najis , napak , impure to the extent that you cannot even touch it ?
Sura al maida verse 90 does not declare it Najis , Napaak , impure.
DO you guys know that your antifreeze and even windshield washer contains alcohol? I dont remember any fatwa where it says that being a car mechanic is a haram job. I say that we should not make our lives too hard on ourselves.

I beg your part you will not hear any fatwa in near futute where it will says car mechanic job is haram due to windshield washer or etc,. I think there'll be plenty of other alcohal free product However, if one's feel uncomfortable he/she may not use this product.
