i think its used alot
it has positives and negatives
these days mobiles are turning into computers with every single function of a computer
email, websites games, movies, music everything works on a mobile
mostly business man type people use it to call important thingies etc
kids and teens use mostly sms, gprs, etc

i am pretty lazy.which is why i never sms anyone and 
my friends are even more lazy/kanjoos .their cellphones battery isnt charged sometime and others dont reply back to sms.

Well I bought a cellphone because I work full-time and study part-time. In that situation one must need atleast one reliance to call ones friends to get notes when he is at work, or call his family if needed on occassions. So Cellphone is a partial necessaty for me.
That being said.
Most teenagers use cellphone to show off, which is a luxuary. They do not just keep one phone with them they buy every brand new version of it and further more.
To be honest it is a wasteful scheme for them which they are not realizing.
Generally Cellphones have one major content on it. Which is a Communication between the 2. Every "App" including calling and incoming call database is a necessaty for some people.
The rest is all the waste.
So Morally speaking; Cellphones do lead some people in a right way and lead some people to the way which is not right.

my usage included voice , data , browsing, txting, taking pics+videos/sharing them, emergency contacting, in days of public transportation using as handheld entertainment device (games, puzzles, browsing) gps for driving/getting lost purposes, instead of lighters or flame candles used it at concerts, twice used it as a robbery-prevention-aid, used as collatral for temporary basis, lookup of house/email contact of all my contacts at that time, etc (there are more but im losing focus)

I hate mobiles.. really.. mera bass chale na 100000 tons mutti ke neeche daba do apna mobile.
