How much is it fair to obtain fatwas on personal life relationship and use it against someone. Religion is suppose to protect us and people use it to harm others.
Lately, I came to know through a friend that her college friend got married to a hindu after obtaining a fatwa from maulvi which allowed her to marry him. Similarly, a few days back I read in news paper that a maulvi got beaten up a bunch of ladies because he gave fatwa to a guy which allowed him to issue talaq to his wife. I know of a place in Karachi where people get such easy fatwas where maulvis listen to one side of the story and give fatwas which affect the lives of so many people. Fatwa is just not a mashwara once the maulvi gives it the other part gets like a license to do whatever he/she wants without the fear that his/her actions can earn so much gunnah.
Can fatwas rule or ruin someone’s life so easily ? why is it so easy for people to turn towards fatwa and then take a decision which hurt other people so much and can even destroy someone’s life ? To me I think fatwa these days are used by few people as a cheap tool to do whatever they want and then get away with it !
