Usage of Saffron

:salam2:

Book** ‘Combing the Hair (Kitab Al-Tarajjul)’ ****of **Sunan Abu-Dawud Hadith No. 4166.
**Narrated AbuMusa: “The Apostle of Allah :saw2: said: Allah does not accept the prayer of a man who has any khaluq (perfume composed of saffron) on his body.”
**
Saffron and its culinary, medicinal, colouring, perfumery, fragrance, and dye use has been a key seasoning for over three millennia. While reading a hadith, I came to know that Almighty Allah does not accept the prayer of a person who use a perfume composed of saffron. Does it mean that if any product from the above composed by Saffron, if used by a person than its prayers will not be accepted?

Please discuss.

Re: Usage of Saffron

Its like saying that wearing Gold is haram for men, so man should not use gold coins in currency either.

Re: Usage of Saffron

Peace TLK,

'wearing' and 'usage' are different.

Re: Usage of Saffron

Basically it is in context to another Hadith where it is said (or it is like this) that "The perfume for men is the fragrance is apparent but the colour is hidden, and the perfume for women is the colour is apparent but the fragrance is hidden."
