Imagine your next happy meal cost $10.73 because the toy that comes with it is locally made and costs $5.00 instead of 3 cents.
Now imagine the same for everything around you thats made in China (which is pretty much everything). Not a very pleasant picture.
Chinese sweatshops are bad. But Americans promoting Chinese sweatchops by buying their products arent helping the cause either.

I don't know if this is strictly true i mean US was still up there before cheap chinese imports existed.
But for sure sweatshops exist because of the demand in the west.

chinese goods are sold in more places than just the west. They hd sweatshops before they started sellign bigtime to US. Kinda like our desi begaar camps and desi sweatshops, they have found new markets for their goods but for the workers its the same ol same ol.
and heck...most homes in pakistan are sweatshops where domestic workers work with no laws protecting them or setting minimum wages, work safety and conditions, work hours, vacations etc.
local markets for sweatshops is there also..its not that the condition for workers is any better in factories that are meeting domestic demand.

dont forget the lovely chinese food that people are having a trend of eating nowdays also...almost everything is made in china, it is really scary!
