USA Bashing by Muslims....We Need To Draw a Line...

Pick any Muslim newspaper, try talking to anyone in Muslim countries, you will find a unanimous agreement among Muslims masses against USA. I was visiting Pakistan couple of months back and I did not find one single person who genuinely believed that 911 operation was performed by Saudi terrorists. Almost everyone I talked to (from a driver to University’s professor, from a shopkeeper to a doctor) genuinely believed that 911 was the result of a Jewish conspiracy. AND YET, ALMOST EVERY ONE WAS WILLING TO MOVE TO USA.

I guess it is easier to declare USA “Munafaqq” and urge the whole muslin world to build nukes but the fact remains that MIGHT IS RIHGHT. “Munaffaq” USA has worked really hard to be able to dictate the whole world. I am not trying to defend USA record and its double policies. However, i think that cursing USA is becoming increasingly popular in Muslim world as well as an easy outlet of expressing their inner angriness. Instead of accepting their failure to develop constitution and establish scientific and cultural institutions, every one wants to take a lead in blaming USA for all the problems. YES, USA’s policies have always been double sided but those policies are double sided for whole third world. At least one should give credit to USA for being so consistent!!! Nicaragua, Venezuela, Panama, Korea, Vietnam…none of them was a Muslim country and yet USA adopted brutal policies towards all of these countries. Then why Muslim countries cry so much?

The fact is that USA bashing in Muslim countries is sometimes ridiculous.

If USA does not act in Sudan, the whole Muslim world blames her for being impotent to save Muslim lives and when USA foreign secretary starts a movement to end atrocities in Drafur, Qazi Hussain ahmed and Fazl-ur-Rehman stand up to tell fellow Muslims the “real motives” behind USA’s involvement in drafur.

Clinton was blamed for being lazy and too lethargic even though he was the only one who, despite a stern opposition by Europe, finally ordered NATO forces to launch strikes at Milosovich forces.

Yes, USA was absolutely ruthless during Russian-afghan war but didn’t USA provide billions and billions of dollars to some one? What did we do with that money?

Yes USA is giving almost 2 billions dollars to Israel every year but did any one ever mention that USA is also providing same amount of money (yes sir the exact same amount ) to Egypt after Camp David agreement? Is it also USA mistake that Israel used each and every penny in developing its country whereas Egypt is still lingering on?

In essence, I feel that USA bashing is being used by our religious pundits for political reasons. Again, I am not trying to defend USA policies towards Muslim countries but my point is that what exactly Muslims are getting from so much of USA cursing? Where exactly are we heading by spreading so much hatred towards USA? By blaming USA for all of our problems, are we moving one step ahead or two-step backwards? Yes, criticism on USA’s biased policies is justified but did any of the Muslim country ever used that hatred in a positive way by focusing on instituional development? On contrary, too much of hatred against USA finally led to the birth of Al-Qaida that has no ideological or philosophical basis and it is simply leading Muslim youth into a catastrophic ditch. I feel like we Muslims should re-visit our thoughts. MIGHT IS RIGHT and USA careless of what we think of him…..it is time for us to be more positive and start using all of our resources to strengthen ourselves in the field of science and technology. To make my point, Japan and Vietnam’s examples could be cited. Had their leadership decided to curse USA for every thing, both of thee countries would still be in a big mess. Instead, Japan made an excellent use of USA aid and never wasted anytime in negative thinking. The whole Japanese nation worked extremely hard to “move forward” and result is obvious. Can we Muslims do the same?

Is Bush your chacha? People have opinions. Draw your line with your crayon and make it a pretty colour.

"USA Bashing My Muslims" A Freudian slip, get back to me when you realise what I'm saying.

Desi you moved now you must agree with everything that the US admin does at home and abroad don't show dissent or guantanamo for your brown posterior.

Man Iraq was bashed then invaded same with afghanistan, now tell me in persepctive what are you gassing about?

Thats what democracy is all about. Human beings are free to express their feelings. Why are more than 1 billion , in fact people all over the world criticizing US? There must be something wrong with US policies. Do you think that 2 billion people are nuts?!!

the title of thread is "USA Bashing By Muslims" instead of "USA Bashing My Muslims"...I apologizze for the typo....Thanks

Hey don’t apologise, Freudian slips are allowed, but don’t make it too often you’ll lose your air of impenetrable mystique :hehe:

Here’s a game let’s see if you and other chamchay can guess who said the following:

“Dissent is the highest form of patriotism”

Just to help you out Dissent means disagreeing/opposing.

Here is an interesting editorial published in Al-Hayat:

Sheikh Abd Al-Hamid Al-Ansari, the former Dean of the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Qatar, wrote an article in the London-based Arabic-language daily Al-Hayat titled “Following the 9/11 Commission, do the Arabs have the Courage to Reconsider their Position?” In his article he called upon Arabs to recant their conspiracy theories regarding the perpetrators of the attacks, and apologize for spreading these theories. The following are excerpts from the column: [1]

The 9/11 Report Details the Terrorists’ Plans

"The 9/11 Commission depicted the full and accurate picture of the attacks, their planning, their perpetration, the perpetrators, and their nationalities. The report clarified that the idea of the attacks was conceived by Khaled Sheikh Muhammad, who admitted that he first discussed the idea of attacking the World Trade Center with commercial planes with his nephew Ramzi Yousef [the architect of the first World Trade Center bombing in 1993]. They discussed it again when they planned the Bojenka conspiracy in Manila [Phillipines] in 1995, which aimed at hijacking commercial planes on 10 American targets, including the 4 targets chosen for September 11, American intelligence [CIA] headquarters, the highest tower in California, and nuclear reactors. He presented the plan to Osama bin Laden and the Al-Qa’ida leaders, who at first weren’t enthusiastic about it because of its complexity and magnitude, but in April 1999 bin Laden invited him to Kandahar and told him that Al-Qa’ida supported his idea. Bin Laden chose the first four suicide bombers after the original plan was changed.

“The American report also describes how the four trained to fly commercial planes in America and how they established four groups, the first group led by the Egyptian Muhammad Atta, with four hijackers. The second group would be led by Marwan Al-Sheihi, from the Emirates, with four hijackers. The third group, led by the Saudi Hani Hanjur, with four hijackers. The fourth group was led by the Lebanese Ziad Al-Jarrah with three hijackers, totaling 19 hijackers. The report criticizes the CIA, stating that they missed 10 opportunities to discover their activities. It claims that there were flaws in the operation, capabilities, forecasts, and policies of the CIA, and that it needs to undergo major changes. President Bush responded to the recommendations and has begun implementing them.”

Will We Now Admit that Arabs were behind the Attacks – or are We ‘Incapable of Apologizing?’

"No doubt the Americans are going to draw practical lessons from the report in order to prevent their recurrence of their failings. But what about us? What about the Arabs who are the active element in this conspiracy?

"After September 11, we blamed the Israeli Mossad for planning the attacks. This belief prevailed not only among popular circles. Intellectuals and high-level figures held to this belief, validating it by their allegation that 4,000 Jews didn’t come to work at the World Trade Center on that cursed morning, and by the arrest of the Jews who gleefully took pictures of the destruction [of the falling towers].

"Another group among us blamed the American extremist right for planning the attacks in order to provide a justification to attack Afghanistan and spread American hegemony in Central Asia. We are also very happy with the book written by the French crook Thierry Meyssan, ‘The Appalling Fraud,’ who became a millionaire thanks to our stupidity in translating the book into Arabic and disseminating it. Another group, headed by Muhammad Hassanein Hayka l, blamed the Yugoslavian Serbs for carrying out the attack in revenge for America’s attacks on them.

"The question must be asked: Are those who blame the Mossad, the American Right, and the Serbs still holding strong to their convictions? What do they say about the American report? Do our religious leaders, especially those who appear so many times on the satellite channels and who have a monopoly on programs on Al-Jazeera, still hold to the conviction that Al-Qa’ida and bin Laden [are] innocent of the September 11 attacks? These leaders used to say that bin Laden is a miserable sheikh who has no capability of planning operations at this high a level of accuracy and planning, and that the 9/11 attacks were perpetrated by the Americans themselves in order to prepare for attacks on Muslims and Islam.

"Moreover, one of our religious leaders claims that America is absolutely certain that bin Laden is innocent and he is being blamed because of their Crusader approach that hates Islam and Muslims. Does this sheikh and the others who held these conspiratorial theories and spread them - do they have the courage to apologize for their words, mistakes, and misleading of other people after all the facts have now been clarified, or are they going to continue with their arrogant stubbornness as if this whole matter doesn’t relate to them?

"One of the absurdities is that while Al-Qa’ida and its supporters are proud of their deeds, calling them the ‘Manhattan Raid,’ and even printing advertisements in London in commemoration of the 9/11 attacks, with pictures of the ‘magnificent 19’ – our religious, cultural, and political elite [are] struggling to deny that [the Arabs] could have had anything to do with it.

“Do we have the courage to criticize ourselves, to admit to our fault, and to apologize as many people do, or is it one of our hidden qualities that we are a people that are incapable of apologizing? Why won’t we take the opportunity of the appearance of the 9-11 Commission’s report to ponder why destructive violence and a culture of destruction have taken root in our society? Why won’t we take this opportunity to reconsider our educational system, our curricula, including the religious, media, and cultural discourse that causes our youth to live in a constant tension with the world?”

OG,

Here's one for your 911 obsession:

"If your government asks you to trade freedom for security, overthrow that government"

President Thomas Jefferson said that…happy?

Phoenix, what you say is correct to some extent but then you have tried to defend US to the exclusion of everything else.Yes it did all those things. But it also turns a blind eye EVERY SINGLE time Israel brutally murders Palestinians. It is always the fault of the Palestinians, never, never Israel. Whenever a muslim commits an act of terrorsism, it is not the individual who is responsible but its is "Muslim Terrorists" Islamic terorists". While at the same time every massacare of Palestinians is justified as "self defence". USA cries about lack of democracy within the muslim world, while it actively supports dictators in muslim countries who are brutalising their own people, Egypt, Jordan, Iran (Shah's time), Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, the list goes on. Yes it provides billion in aid to these countries but turns a bilnd eye when the very same dictators whom it is propping up squanders that money. The same USA cries about lack of democracy in the muslim world yet supports the brutal repression of an Islamic party in Algeria when it is well on its way to win an election. In teh wake of 9/11 USA invades Afghanistan to root out Al Qaeeda. to date it has miserably failed to do so. Al Qaeeda according to USA is still very active, it has failed to capture either OBL or Mullah Omar yet in the process has killed tens of thousands of innocent muslims bothin Afghanistan and Iraq, and not a word of apology. What do you want the muslims to do in return? Sing praises of USA and Bush? There is a huge difference in the way both sides see this war. The Americans want us to believe that it is a war on terror, the muslims think it is a war of terror. Both are right, USA started the war to avenge and root out those who attacked their country. However, in the process they did not care how many innocent muslims they killed.

As for Vietnamese, they had nothing to curse or fear the Americans, they defeated them in the war.

phoenixdesi wanted to make a point. You may disagree with him. What's with your fascination with blood and gore? OinkBL and his followers have murdered Shia doctors, blown up Shia mosques, killed unarmed Pakistanis, and you still want him to be your Behn-ooja?

2 million + Afghans killed and 8 million made homeless. Cowards like OinkBL wanted Afghans to continue suffering. Pakistani and Americans pleaded with one-eyed Mullah-Tullah that Oink oink is good for nothing terrorist. Destruction of Afghan heritage, closing of schools, and daily beating of poor women didn’t satisfy these terrorist goons. OinkBL's followers clapped with joy. Have mercy man have mercy on poor Afghans.

5000 Kurdish women, children, and men gassed and you blame phoenixdesi for gassing? Typical Sad-Damn logic! Sad indeed.
