Pick any Muslim newspaper, try talking to anyone in Muslim countries, you will find a unanimous agreement among Muslims masses against USA. I was visiting Pakistan couple of months back and I did not find one single person who genuinely believed that 911 operation was performed by Saudi terrorists. Almost everyone I talked to (from a driver to University’s professor, from a shopkeeper to a doctor) genuinely believed that 911 was the result of a Jewish conspiracy. AND YET, ALMOST EVERY ONE WAS WILLING TO MOVE TO USA.
I guess it is easier to declare USA “Munafaqq” and urge the whole muslin world to build nukes but the fact remains that MIGHT IS RIHGHT. “Munaffaq” USA has worked really hard to be able to dictate the whole world. I am not trying to defend USA record and its double policies. However, i think that cursing USA is becoming increasingly popular in Muslim world as well as an easy outlet of expressing their inner angriness. Instead of accepting their failure to develop constitution and establish scientific and cultural institutions, every one wants to take a lead in blaming USA for all the problems. YES, USA’s policies have always been double sided but those policies are double sided for whole third world. At least one should give credit to USA for being so consistent!!! Nicaragua, Venezuela, Panama, Korea, Vietnam…none of them was a Muslim country and yet USA adopted brutal policies towards all of these countries. Then why Muslim countries cry so much?
The fact is that USA bashing in Muslim countries is sometimes ridiculous.
If USA does not act in Sudan, the whole Muslim world blames her for being impotent to save Muslim lives and when USA foreign secretary starts a movement to end atrocities in Drafur, Qazi Hussain ahmed and Fazl-ur-Rehman stand up to tell fellow Muslims the “real motives” behind USA’s involvement in drafur.
Clinton was blamed for being lazy and too lethargic even though he was the only one who, despite a stern opposition by Europe, finally ordered NATO forces to launch strikes at Milosovich forces.
Yes, USA was absolutely ruthless during Russian-afghan war but didn’t USA provide billions and billions of dollars to some one? What did we do with that money?
Yes USA is giving almost 2 billions dollars to Israel every year but did any one ever mention that USA is also providing same amount of money (yes sir the exact same amount ) to Egypt after Camp David agreement? Is it also USA mistake that Israel used each and every penny in developing its country whereas Egypt is still lingering on?
In essence, I feel that USA bashing is being used by our religious pundits for political reasons. Again, I am not trying to defend USA policies towards Muslim countries but my point is that what exactly Muslims are getting from so much of USA cursing? Where exactly are we heading by spreading so much hatred towards USA? By blaming USA for all of our problems, are we moving one step ahead or two-step backwards? Yes, criticism on USA’s biased policies is justified but did any of the Muslim country ever used that hatred in a positive way by focusing on instituional development? On contrary, too much of hatred against USA finally led to the birth of Al-Qaida that has no ideological or philosophical basis and it is simply leading Muslim youth into a catastrophic ditch. I feel like we Muslims should re-visit our thoughts. MIGHT IS RIGHT and USA careless of what we think of him…..it is time for us to be more positive and start using all of our resources to strengthen ourselves in the field of science and technology. To make my point, Japan and Vietnam’s examples could be cited. Had their leadership decided to curse USA for every thing, both of thee countries would still be in a big mess. Instead, Japan made an excellent use of USA aid and never wasted anytime in negative thinking. The whole Japanese nation worked extremely hard to “move forward” and result is obvious. Can we Muslims do the same?
