This unfortunate, but its coming. Pakistan is slowing turning into Afghanistan, and nothing would make jihadi terrorists happy than seeing Pakistan becoming Afghanistan.

WASHINGTON: The U.S. military is developing plans for a unilateral attack on the Pakistani Taliban in the event of a successful terrorist strike in the United States that can be traced to them, a US newspaper reports.

Planning for a retaliatory attack was spurred by ties between alleged Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad and elements of the Pakistani Taliban, the paper said in an article posted on its website Friday night, quoting unidentified senior military officials.

The military would focus on air and missile strikes but also could use small teams of U.S. Special Operations troops currently along the border with Afghanistan, the Post said.

Airstrikes could damage the militants’ ability to launch new attacks but also might damage U.S.-Pakistani relations.

A senior U.S. official told foreign news agency that Pakistan already has been told that it has only weeks to show real progress in a crackdown against the Taliban.

The Americas will add fuel to the fire. They with 100,00 plus other troops in the country so-called peacekeepers cant control the fire there. They really cant afford more enemies.

I have a feeling the Americans want to create a larger Afghanistan including the Tribal Areas and KP.

it makes me sad to say this... but clearly we've got our heads in the sand due to some right wing elements in the army, agencies and political parties (PML-N, JI, etc). so, if the US is going to kill the Taliban that is a bitter pill we have to swallow.

How many 9/11 bombers where traced back to Pakistan? No body and even Americans says that none of them was from Pakistan.. How many times the border areas of Iran and N.Korea was used by USA to fight its rival super-power.. we didn't invited Russians on our northern borders or do you think we sent them invitations to invade Afghanistan and sit on our head...

Sadly, you're right. We're almost there, but people responsible for bringing us to where we are today is our army and the Islamists. For last 30+years army has been nurturing Islamists terrorists under its patronage, and using jihad as instrument of its expansionist policy in Afghanistan and else where, and now we, as nation, are facing our existential threat from the very monster that we have created.

Btw, Islamists have never accepted the creation of Pakistan & JI was outrightly opposed to Pakistan Movement, and now they're doing all they can to destroy it.
