And frankly you have to be a complete raving idiot to stay in Fallujah during that fight. Two thirds of the town evacuated. How much sympathy do you think I have for the morons who either chose to remain, or chose to fight? How about none.
One big old Daisy Cutter would have meant a lot less US casualties, and perhaps made a point. But that would have been labeled “collective punishment” and would have been politically incorrect.
