Hello there folks,
I am wanting to travel to the US for the 1st time and obviously need a visa because I have a ****ty Pakistani passport! :frowning:

So bee reading around and seems like I have to do an online application!? I never doe this online application for any other tourist visas. Anyone done this recently? How long would it take to get this tourist visa?

I travel everywhere on my beloved Pakistani passport.

Shame to him. Shame for me , Shame for everyone involved in such activeties those thrown us so down. Smugglers and their helping hands like customs, Fake agents and their helping hands like Immigration, Do you know even our ministers were involved in this bisiness since last many decades,

though this is completely off topic... but yes, one of Musharaf's Interior Ministrator ( later became Kashmir minister) was directly involved in such cases.... Once UK govt was ready to ban all visas to Pakistan, but Robin Cook ( or the UK's FM at the time) realized that it would be very harsh, so he came personally to Pakistan and met Musharaf,,, the very next day the interior minister became minister of Kashmir :D

What is wrong in me hating my passport? Bloody need a visa even for transit any country!? One day this passport holders will need a visa to go to the toilet!!

about information..believe me .... most of us , including me, can really help you ,, from scheduling an appointment to filling all the forms and everything and even guide you on how to purchase a cheap ticket..

but really,, first you should learn on how to respect your self and your country.... calling your Passport some $hiT is actually considered to be mutiny and the result is actually death penalty...

so again,,, ....................

usa visa is a complicated process.they waste lots of time.where r u applying from?call the embassy/consulate in ur area for more info.for calgary u call them to make an app first.they'll never pick phone or call u back right away.then after several weeks depending on their mood n ur luck they'll giv u a day to come n drop ur application ......so apply 4-5 months b4 ur desired date of travel

i guess i'm the only one who didn't mind wat u said abt pak passport..but its not the fault of our id but our ppl.n no matter wat passport we get still visa/immigration officers will suspect us secretly if not openly just for being paki n muslims.

If you are applying at Islamabad, scheduling an appointment is not a problem. You can check appointment wait times at Dept of State website travel.state.gov

The Embassy takes time in security clearance if they want to do screening on you. On average approx 6~7 months, but there are cases when people have received passport in a month and even 3 days depending on the mood of officer.

Most important point, just be what you are. do not pretend or fake yourself. If you are 10th pass, just write it on the form. be straight forward. look into the eyes of visa officer. answer questions without thinking and as quick as you can. Be bold, not shy and DO NOT think they will refuse you.

Lying is the biggest offence considered by Americans. Be honest.

They won't go on your papers or bank balance for long. They will evaluate you. They f**kin don't give importance to papers.

Thank you for your advice but im still not happy with my passport and will take 1st opurtunity to get a better one!

Yaar Im applying from london and their waiting times are 35 days! I was planning to go in mid May but dont think I could make it now. Soo unfair as these americans can get a visa within 1 day to come to pakiland! and we have to wait sooooo long! No wonder I hate my passport as this is not the 1st time I have had to not travel because of the visa issues! :-(

I think I will still appply for the visa, do i need to have a purchased ticket inorder to obtain the visa?

And how long will the visit visa last for?

By the way, my passport expires next year and its a manual passort. What is a machine readable passport and will it make anything better for me?
