Five of the soldiers are charged with murdering three Afghan men who were allegedly killed for sport in separate attacks this year. Seven others are …
Re: US soldiers 'killed Afghan civilians for sport and collected fingers as trophies'
Unfortunately this despicable act is just the tip of the ice berg.
US military and contractors have long been involved in war crimes and only those are reprimanded who are reported by whistle blower or by the likes of wikileaks etc
in another thread spanning few pages there are people justifying US actions in iraq and afghanistan, i guess this is how 'civilized' armies spread peace in places they invade...
Re: US soldiers 'killed Afghan civilians for sport and collected fingers as trophies'
it's sickening, but these types of soldiers that bring shame to the uniform don't represent the whole US armed forces. 20,000 of those soldiers in the united states armed forces are muslim americans, i read that somewhere so really nobody is justifying these acts. just like a few radical extremists in any religious community aren't representative of the whole, these types of shameless soldiers that set up things like "kill teams" don't represent the whole armed forces of any country.
Re: US soldiers 'killed Afghan civilians for sport and collected fingers as trophies'
That's reprehensible!
In addition to charging the soldiers for their abuse of power and torture of civilians, there needs to be an investigation into how this happened.
Is it an isolated incident or is it endemic to the military forces - and where were the reporting officers when this happened? If it's the latter situation, the US government itself needs to take responsibility and take steps for both reparation and remediation.

Exactly, and that's why there should be no debate about Islamic Center near ground zero. A few radical extremists do not represent Islam.
Trashing at least three countries, resulting in thousands of unnecessary deaths, because of a few radical extremists wasn't warranted either.

okie tell all this to the extreme right conservatives that are opposing the islamic center near ground zero, you know the rush limbaughs and the glen becks along with the republican tea party, hillbillies and the rednecks. why direct it towards me
