**Group claims it kidnapped U.S. soldiers **

By SAMEER N. YACOUB, Associated Press Writer 37 minutes ago

BAGHDAD, Iraq - An umbrella group linked to al-Qaida in Iraq. claimed Monday that it had kidnapped two American soldiers reported missing south of Baghdad, where 8,000 Iraqi and U.S. troops were conducting a massive search.

The group, called the Mujahedeen Shura Council, also claimed it had kidnapped four Russian diplomats and killed a fifth in Baghdad on June 3.
The message, which could not be authenticated, appeared on an Islamic Web site known for publishing messages from insurgent groups in Iraq. U.S. officials have said they were trying to confirm whether the two soldiers, who disappeared Friday evening following an insurgent attack that also killed a U.S. soldier, were kidnapped.

During the search for the missing Americans, U.S. spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell also said the military killed three suspected insurgents and detained 34 others in fighting that wounded seven U.S. servicemen.
The Web posting said: “Your brothers in the military wing of the Mujahedeen Shura Council kidnapped the two American soldiers near Youssifiya.” It did not identify the soldiers.

The Defense Department identified the missing men as Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, of Houston, and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker, 25, of Madras, Ore., and the dead soldier as Spc. David J. Babineau, 25, of Springfield, Mass. They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

so who is the new face? new villain? do we have a name to blame yet? or now the target is back-to-old-enemy ALQ?

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

What's far more interesting than 2 US soldiers letting themselves be captured rather than go down fighting is the fact that they were 2 soldiers from the 101st Airborne - the Screaming Eagles.

That's a long way to fall for soldiers from the division that was the "Battered Bastards of Bastogne."

Back in WW2, the 101st men would rather keep on fighting even when hopelessly surrounded, cut off from supplies of food, ammunition and medical care.

I guess they're just softer these days ... truly no longer the Greatest generation.. Shame on these soldiers for disgracing the name of a division with such a long history of heroism and refusing to surrender no matter what.

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

another PsyOps..

they can nab pimply faced 11 yr olds in the farthest corners of the world for downloading a Brittany Spears CD.. but these ‘jihadi websites’ stay afloat..

They’ve even stopped giving out the url’s for these websites as they can easily be tracerouted back to Langley Virginia or Texas ISP’s close to the Republican party..

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

since their hummer was blown up by an Bomb killing the driver that means that both soldiers were either knocked out, or too fazed by the blast to put up any resistence

almost every US soldier knows that if you get captured by the insurgents, you will get your head chopped off and the video will air in prime time on al jazeera

so to say that US troops just surrendered is just plain stupid

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

since these jihadi websites are located in areas such as Iraq, it is really hard to shut them down than lets say some guy in London, england downloading kiddy porn…

Prove it…

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

may be US military should put some credibility back on track by providing some links, no?

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

explain to me why these websites cannot exist or why there are only a US fabrication?

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

Why

When a website is taken down, how would it exist?

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

Why did US not provide a link? perhaps afraid that people will trace it back to Texas or Virginia as PakistaniAbroad said earlier?

When a website is taken down, how would it exist?

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

you didnt answer my question....

just because US doesnt provide a link to these sites makes it a US concoction?

Why cant these sites exist?

If Germany shows some Neo-Nazi sites, but doesnt provide a link to them that means that Germany has created them?

When videos of hostages being executed are aired on Al-Jazeera, but Al-Jazeera doesnt say how it got the video, that means that whole hostage execution is an Al-Jazeera concoction?

Again, I ask, are the Arab terrorists too stupid to construct a simple website or no matter what, you will always blame USA for everything

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

Right, like the Jessica Lynch farce? Save it…

Besides, I hope these 2 US terrorists die a horrible and painful death.

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

burden of proof is on the claimant.. If I claim to have a message from Santa's website, everyone (but mercen of course) would want to know which website..

right now all we have is just another piece tailored for media booga booga.. released on a Monday too to squeeze everything out of it by the end of the week..

It'l be extremely simple to find these soldiers if anyone was willing. Note the website. Trace it back to who owns it. Nab everyone on the staff and whoever they've been in touch with. You'll be led to the soldiers.. Simple.

BUT the truth is that these are just a figment of Pentagon's overactive imagination.

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

they never said that these soldiers went down fighting....

they were dis-oriented when a huge bomb blew up their hummer killing their comrade

and if these soldiers do die a horrible death and in which their heads are chopped off and shown on al-jazeera

this will do more harm to muslims living in USA than 9/11 ever did...

people like fret wizard who live in fairy tale worlds dont understand the ramifications of these actions....

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

may be the intelligence should dig into that and see if AlJazeera is really behind it all, in the mean time when they post a claim of a website they should also post the link (as done in past)… do we see “daal mai kuchh kala?” :hmmm:

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

Irrelevant. The average ignorant American hick thinks that the killing of American soldiers (aka terrorists) in Iraq is terrrorism. That’s what the mindless fools are taught by their very own government. Whether or not US soldiers (aka terrorists) are killed, muslims will always be harmed in the US.

Right, I’m not the one who stated the US had won the Vietnam war, or that the US is currently winning in Iraq (or was that 2 weeks after the start of the war). And he says I live in a fairy tale… :hehe:

and yes…I do hope they suffer a horrible, and painful death.

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

how come such things have been going on for so long yet Americans are getting tired of war more than Muslims.

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

Well the every jahil muslim thinks that these insurgents are great heroic warriors of islam that is what they are taught by their own government, schools, and parents which is completely contradictory to Islam and what is written in the Quran.

Whether or not USA invaded iraq or supported Israel, USA, Christians and Jews will always be demonized by these uneducated jahil so called muslims.

USA did accomplish all its objectives in Vietnam, but you cant even find Vietnam on a map, so I am not surprises you are just repeating the same old BS u learned from your madrassah…

USA has grinded down the insurgents, killed off their leaders, building up the Iraqi Army, the progress is slow but slow and steady wins the race…

so then you will understand when you go to the airport, why the US custom officers are strip searching you

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

Well lets see…

Since there is a website which shows Jihadi BS on it, and since USA doesnt post links to it, you automatically assume its a US concoction…

If that is your logical reasoning, then why cant Pakistan be responsible for 9/11?

After all, Pakistan has benefitted greatly from 9/11, as new weapon systems, military and econmical aid, major non-nato ally, and great economic growth

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

^ :hehe: don’t run away, Pakistan didn’t post the news of 9/11, just stay focussed on the problem at hand. If US is not going to give links then it means US is spreading rumours, period.

Re: US soldiers kidnapped

no it doesnt…

maybe to someone who has already made up its mind that USA is making the whole thing up, then ya,

but for someone who takes a neutral stand, i dont buy it…

Very simply I ask, Captain…

Are the Iraqi Insurgents just too stupid to create a website ?

If they can create bombs that are activated by pointing lasers at them, and active IED’s by cell phones, you mean to tell me that cannot create a simple website, which every 5 year old in the world knows how to do?

LOL
