Level of corruption within Indian only teams can be a factor sometimes; hence a more objective external team makes sense as a supplement
When the inevitable charge-sheeting of Pakistan based terrorists come, it will be more easily accepted if a non-Indian agency was involved as well.

Based on the reports and court proceeding, there is no such "background" material that FBI added to the charge sheet (do not try to launch yet another conspiracy theory to explain this).
You gotta accept that the whole FBI shebang was a "bhondi and bachgana" attempt by GOI to malign Pak in the eyes of American adm.

On the FBI thing - I just don't understand why it is an issue. look at the Headly thing for example. I'd go even further and say for us to actually win against the terrorists not just cooperate with FBU CIA etc but also whatever Pakistani agencies as well (I hope there are agencies other than ISI? ISI is too highly politicised because your military owns it and the latter has been a political player all along)
