It seems to me that US is acting quite responsibly and before ratcheting up the war machine, they gave a chance to these Haqqani guys. That is NOT double talk but giving dialogue a chance before shooting. Why do you object to that?

This is very done very selectively and only when it suits their agenda and no consideration to the actual people of Afghanistan.
