**The jury sitting in the re-trial of rapper C-Murder - accused of killing a 16-year-old fan - are to go into a second day of deliberations.**Jurors must decide whether Corey Miller is guilty of second-degree murder over the shooting of Steven Thomas in 2002.
He was jailed for life in 2003, but won a retrial over witness testimony.
Steven Thomas was beaten and shot outside a club in the Louisiana town of Harvey, where he had taken part in a rapping contest.
It is alleged the teenager entered the club using fake ID hoping to impress his idol.
“If Steve Thomas were here today, he’d be 23,” prosecutor Shannon Swaim told the court during closing arguments.
“He’d want you to know C-Murder isn’t his hero anymore. The last time he looked up to him was 12 January 2002. And the last time he looked up to him, he shot him.”
Mr Miller’s lawyer, Ron Rakosky, told the court two witnesses, provided by the prosecution, had been weak and not offered any substantial evidence.
“These people didn’t give you anything whatsoever that can help you tip the scale against Corey Miller,” he said.
Jurors spent nine hours deliberating on the case before being sent home by the judge to resume on Tuesday.
